BRANDY, QUEEN LATIFAH, MC LYTE, & YO-YO REUNITE AT BET HIP-HOP AWARDS

Brandy celebrated the 20th anniversary of her debut single with a white-hot performance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2014, which aired on Tuesday night.

Against an all-white set, the R&B diva reunited with Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, and Yo-Yo to perform the hip-hop remix of “I Wanna Be Down.”

With her brother Ray J looking on, Brandy kicked things off followed by Lyte, Yo-Yo, and Latifah, who earned the largest applause.

There were laughs and tears at the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2014 on Saturday. Hosted by Snoop Dogg, the ninth annual show returned to the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta to honor the best in hip-hop, with performances from some of the year’s biggest stars.

Uncle Snoop showed off his comedic chops in several skits throughout the evening. He brought his GGN network to life on stage, interviewing French Montana and “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Mimi Faust.

In honor of the song’s 20-year anniversary, Brandy reunited with Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, and Yo-Yo to perform the hip-hop remix to her debut single “I Wanna Be Down.”

The most powerful moment of the evening came when Common, Jay Electronica, and Vince Staples stood on stage with the parents of Mike Brown. There was a moment of silence and the crowd put their hands in the air in remembrance of the unarmed black teen who was killed by a white police officer in Ferguson.

With tears in his eyes, Doug E. Fresh acknowledged his late mother while accepting the “I Am Hip-Hop Award.”

“I want to thank this woman and hip-hop. If it wasn’t for hip-hop, I don’t know where I would be,” said an emotional Fresh, who also performed “La Di Da Di” with Snoop.

T.I. took the stage with Young Thug for “About the Money,” Rae Sremmurd performed their summer anthem “No Flex Zone,” and Migos knocked it out with “Fight Night.”

A day after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman in Birdman’s condo, Keyshia Cole presented Producer of the Year to DJ Mustard. Her rumored boyfriend Birdman was also in the house, performing “Lifestyle” with Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug.

Drake received the most nominations with eight, followed by Jay Z, Pharrell, and Future with six apiece.

The BET Hip-Hop Awards 2014, along with the pre-recorded cyphers, will air October 14 at 8 p.m. EST.

RUSSELL SIMMONS COMEDY SHOW IN HOLLYWOOD BRINGS OUT THE STARS, BRANDY, EVA MARCILLE, TONY ROCK & MORE

Fun times...Russell Simmons still has the Wednesday funny on lock with his live comedy show in L.A. This week brought out Brandy, Eva Marcille, Angela Simmons, Karrueche, Tracee Ellis Ross, Steve Rifkind and many more. 

Last night was full of laughs at Russell Simmons’ All Def Digital Comedy Live show, hosted by funny man Tony Rock.

The event was packed with a handful of YBF celebs such as Brandy, model Eva Marcille, Chris Brown’s boo Karrueche, TOTAL singer Keisha Epps, actress Tracee Ellis Ross, comedian Mark Curry, video vixen/rapper Lola Monroe and Diddy’s son Quincy. They all trekked it to The Chinese Mann Theatre in Hollywood for an evening of good drinks and good times with fab people.

Brandy has been out-and-about lately looking fabulous after she and fiancé Ryan Press called it quits. She hit the scene in a cute laid back look, giving us Moesha tease with these cute braids.

After responding to VH1 for labeling her a notorious side chick, Karrueche Tran relieved some stress with her girls.

And Tracee Ellis Ross was spotted cracking up at the jokes of the night:

 In a rare appearance, Brandi's bestie and Omar Epps wife Keisha Epps came out to celebrate her birthday. Happy Birthday Keisha! We see everybody in LA are wearing the box braids again. They are so so heavy...will pass!!  But cute :)

RUMOR BRANDY ENDS HER ENGAGEMENT OVER PERNUP DISPUTE?

No love again, back in 2012 Brandy Norwood and longtime love Ryan Press got engaged after two years of dating.

However, recent events have fans wondering if Brandy and Ryan have called it quits...

Whispers that Brandy and Ryan may have ended their engagement began after Brandy was spotted on several occasions not wearing her engagement ring.

The whispers got louder last week after Ray J threw a surprise party for Brandy's 35th birthday with Ryan mysteriously NOT in attendance.

“According to one of Brandy’s close friends Brandy and Ryan both hired lawyers to try and hash out a “fair” prenuptial agreement. Both Ryan and Brandy have paper. Brandy’s paper we all know about. But Ryan made a little bit too as a record producer.” The snitch told  source, “Ryan basically doesn’t want a prenup, He’s like we both have, so if we divorce we split it all in half. Brandy’s no dummy so she’s holding out.”

 Brandy also hasn't been photographed, on Instagram or otherwise, with her "fiancé" in over 3 months so theirs our proof. Last face it social media tells the whole story these days.

I guess this explains Brandy's sudden Rap Skills? Looks like she is going to be needing them now that she has been officially dropped form Epic Records in addition to losing management assistance from Roc Nation. According to Nielsen Soundscan, 30 year old Brandy's "Human" has sold just over 196,000 copies in the United States most artist sell that in the first week. "Human" spawned two singles, with the lead single "Right Here(Departed)" peaking at no. 34 on Billboard's Hot 100 this was R & B Singer first album in 4 years.

But is Brandy's drop really that surprising considering the seemingly forgotten comeback attempt with 2008's "Human" ?

Jet magazine caught up with the talented star to get the inside scoop on how she dealt with the ordeal and what’s on the horizon with her new project.
