Ladies first! Missy Elliott and Queen Latifah joined First Lady Michelle Obama for her Opening Keynote at SXSW in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday (Mar. 16). During the conversation, Misdemeanor opened up about her female influences.

“People like Queen Latifah, who is sitting on this stage, her album, MC Lyte, Salt-N-Pepa,” said Missy (via Billboard). “These women are the reason I am an MC. I became an artist because of their music. Queen Latifah taught us ‘U-N-I-T-Y,’ she taught us ‘Ladies First.’ Her music has done so much for me.”

The moment was also important for Latifah, who noted the irony of the occasion. “It’s weird to write ‘Ladies First’ and be sitting with the First Lady,” she explained, referencing her 1989 single off All Hail the Queen. “It’s surreal to me.”
The event, which also featured Sophia Bush, follows the release of “This Is for My Girls,” a female empowerment anthem written by Diane Warren, which features Missy, Zendaya, Kelly Rowland, Janelle MonĂ¡e, Kelly Clarkson, Lea Michele, and more. FLOTUS organized the song to promote her Let Girls Learn initiative and the #62MillionGirls campaign.

During her talk, Obama also shot down rumors that she’s eyeing the presidency as her husband, President Barack Obama, wraps up his final year in office.

“I will not run for president,” she said. “I got these two young people at home. Being the daughters of a president—just think about it. C’mon young people, not so easy! They handled it with grace and poise but enough is enough. There are so many ways to impact the world. You don’t have to be the president of the United States to do wonderful things.”

Kerry Washington owes a lot to her TV character Olivia Pope. Not only has that Type A woman helped her make the TV series Scandal a success, but she has also helped the actress in real life.

In the new issue of US Elle, the 39-year-old star said: 'Even though Olivia Pope has obviously made the decision that she is not a mom, playing her made me feel like I could be a mom. Because she knows there's always another way—there's always a way to fix it, there's always a way to solve it, to win.'She added: 'And I feel like playing her made me feel like, All right, I can do it. I will figure out how to juggle it all.'

Did her manipulative new manager force her into it..?

From Page Six'

Mariah Carey insiders tell Page Six that the singer is being controlled by her “Russian dictator” manager Stella Bulochnikov and they’re concerned she’s ruining Carey’s brand.
“Stella is the furthest thing from a manager. She’s a TV producer. She’s practically moved in with Mariah and now she has so much stuff on her that she can get her to do anything. She’s pulling the strings, and Mariah does whatever she says.”

John Legend has no patience for Donald Trump Jr.'s mockery of protesters at his father's campaign rallies.
"When asked why they were protesting couldn't even answer. The participation medal/micro-aggression generation is pretty sad!" Trump Jr. tweeted Friday night.
"I think they were protesting your racist father," Legend fired back. "This isn't complicated."
Grammy-award winning singer shut down Donald Trump Jr on Twitter on Friday night and it was incredible.

Legend and Trump Jr. battled after the singer called Trump Sr. a "racist" but only one person was the winner of these tweet war.

Safe to say John Legend's Twitter fingers aren't here for the nonsense and we love every minute of it.
