One of hip-hop’s pioneer groups A Tribe Called Quest dropped their final album, titled We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service.

Also today, the group released a new lyric video for their single “We the People” (watch video below).

The double disc album was recorded before the death of original member Phife Dawg in March. The album features collabo’s with Kanye West, Andre 3000, and Busta Rhymes.

To promote the album, the group will be musical guests on Saturday Night Live hosted by comedian Dave Chappelle on Nov. 12.

Destiny’s Child reunites. While the trio didn’t come together for new music, they did link up for the “Mannequin Challenge” viral video sensation.

Backed by Lauryn Hill’s “Every Ghetto, Every City,” Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams froze in fun poses for the video — Michelle tossing a ball at Queen Bey while Kelly pretended to swing a long balloon.

Unfortunately for DC fans, the video wasn’t shot at a studio. It looks like the clip was taken at a playroom with toys and kid-friendly art in the background.

It was likely a festive occasion in honor of Kelly’s son Titan Jewell, who turned two on Nov. 4. Another photo posted by Kelly shows Bey’s mom Tina Lawson playing with young Titan, who is quite the car collector.

Back in April, Kelly talked about a potential DC reunion. “We haven’t talked about it,” she said. “I’ll see Michelle tomorrow or the next day and the last time me and Bey were together was like two weeks ago when I stopped by rehearsals. We talk about everything else. We really, really do. We talk about playdates with the kids and vacations and new opportunities.”

Destiny’s Child’s last album Destiny Fulfilled was released Nov. 15, 2004.

Live from New York, it’s Solange.

Hot off the release of her first No. 1 album A Seat at the Table, the R&B songstress made her debut on the late-night show. Following an introduction from host Benedict Cumberbatch, Solo performed her standout single “Cranes in the Sky,” which has already been remixed by Common, Styles P, and KAYTRANADA.

Dressed in a sparkly headpiece and crystal dress, she put on an angelic performance against an all-white backdrop. Backed by her band and three female dancers, Solange stunned with moves reminiscent of the music video, curtsying at the end.

Solange‘s appearance on Saturday Night Live turned into a family affair.

Both big sister Beyoncé and mom Tina Knowles-Lawson were on hand at Studio 8H for Solange’s debut on the sketch show, and they weren’t afraid to keep up some long-standing family traditions on the iconic stage.
