“I always knew that being 100% wholeheartedly me was going to pay off,” says Solange, who rocks her natural hair.

Erykah Badu shines in a sequined dress and yellow nail polish. “Beauty looks like encouragement, patience, acceptance, forgiveness, carefulness, and compassion. Beauty is spiritual and physical,” says the Dallas soulstress, who is currently working on the follow-up to 2010′s New Amerykah Part Two.

Grammy-nominated singer Ledisi reveals that she feels like the “sexiest thing in the world” when she’s on stage. “I started feeling beautiful because I came from beauty,” she says.
