Instead, everyone’s least favorite wife of a celebrity is speaking up again in Essence magazine, responding to her negative public perception:
We [black women] don’t like ourselves. If I were Hispanic, Usher would have the sexiest wife alive. If I were mixed, he’d have the sexiest wife alive. But he has a black girl, and it’s like, ‘She’s horrible and she’s ugly!’
OK, maybe I don’t fit the cookie-cutter standard - 25 and a size two - but this is who he loves. There are women getting raped in Darfur, young girls being turned out every single day right here in Atlanta. We have bigger issues to worry about than two people in love with each other.
This may be true, but at the end of the day, the United States doesn’t care about Darfur because its economic and political interests aren’t threatened.
Usher is a national treasure, however.

I have 2 agree and disagree with man-eka...1st of all she is correct in saying she doesn't fit what the "entertainment" industry says is pretty yes very few men in the industry have dark skinned wives or girlfriends and I am glad usher married a black woman maybe he will set a trend that it is ok 2 date beautiful dark skinned women. BUT! My problem is # 1 u don't go from someone as beautiful as chilli 2 someone that looks like her. I don't think people are hatin because she's dark they're hatin because she's not cute! If he was dating kelly rowland it wouldn't b a issue bcause kelly is pretty but that's jus looks..she may b a beautiful person on the inside and have mad tricks in the bedroom and she knows she's not cute that's y her ass got pregnant so dam quick she knows from her 1st 3 a baby don't keep a man but it does keep income flowing she knows exactly what she's doin!
I agree The Truth you are right on with your comments I'm happy he has married who he loves not necessary a race thing with me.Although marrying a Black woman is a good look. It's this chicks attitude I mostly have a problem with her attitude which makes her so UNATTRACTIVE..!!..she needs to look in the Mirror and work on whats got her head so "F-up".!!
