"Jay's music is more than music. His lyrics have fathered generations. "All that he has overcome gives millions so much hope. There are moments when I see his lips moving, and I can see lyrics floating above his head, and I think, 'Wow! How did I get so lucky to be able to witness this level of genius so closely?'"

According to allhiphop.com, the Yonkers native was greeted by a small group of family and friends before heading to a visit with his probation officer.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was locked up again back in December of 2010 for probation violation when he refused to take a drug test. X, who has struggled with drugs throughout his career, was subsequently sentenced to a year in prison.

X's reps confirmed reports that he was in "serious negotiations" with Rick Ross's Maybach Music Group. I really hope this man gets his life together instead of living off tax payers dollars behind bars.

NBA Lockout Put On Hold For One Day: Chris Bosh Wedding

The last time we saw Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh, he was collapsing to the ground in the locker room tunnel following a soul-crushing loss to the Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 of the 2011 NBA Finals.  It's safe to say he's recovered fairly well.

A South Beach $300,000 super size wedding went down over the weekend.  The lavish wedding of Miami Heat giant Chris Bosh and petite beauty Adrienne Williams prompted a brief lifting of the NBA lockout . The big 3 reunited again as fellow players including LeBron James and Dwyane Wade partied along with team execs.

The happy couple celebrated with 300 guests at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach with three days of spectacular events over the weekend.

they later mingled on the dance floor with team GM Pat Riley, coach Erik Spoelstra, vice president Nick Arison, the son of Heat owner Micky Arison, Serena Williams and former Heat all-star Alonzo Mourning, who now works in player relations. They got special permission from the league to attend the glitzy bash together.

Due to the July 1st lock out the players and coaches cannot have any contact which each other.  The couple gave expensive gifts to each other on the wedding day, including a Cartier necklace for Adrienne and a brand-new Aston Martin Rapide for Chris. About 100 guests including James, Wade and Wade's girlfriend Gabrielle Union then celebrated at the unofficial after-party at the Fontainebleau's club Arkadia until 5 a.m.  Now will the gay rumors stop?

One guest said, "The players were on one side of the ballroom, the executives on the other, and later they met on the dance floor."

15 Year Old Boy Dies From Injuries Caused In The Lamar Odom Crash

Odom seen above was on set filming a commercial a couple of days after his Cousin funereal and one day after the car crash incident. Isn't it a little too soon for that?

In a surprising twist the 15-year-old boy died after suffering injuries in a car accident involving Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom, it was reported yesterday.
After the car driving Odom hit the motorcycle which sources are saying was in the way, the motorcycle then propelled into a 15-year-old pedestrian and struck him. Thursday night the teenager, underwent emergency surgery at a nearby hospital in Queens.

The boy's family tells sources ... the boy sustained major head injuries in the collision. And unfortunately died last Friday morning, TMZ.com reported.  A funeral for the boy was held yesterday.

Odom, who grew up in South Jamaica, was returning from a trip to a barbershop when the accident occurred. It was reported that the Lakers forward was particularly upset after the crash took place and was seen crying at the scene.

Odom, who was riding in the back seat without his reality TV star wife Khloe Kardashian, was in Queens to attend the funeral of his cousin. Odom also participated in the LP Fam’s Youth Organization events in his home borough last week, sources told The Post.

Rapper Ja Rule Gets More Time 28 Months For Failing To Pay Taxes

Uncle Sam doesn't pay and it's evident in Rapper Ja Rule new sentence.  As if getting hit with a two-year jail bid wasn't enough, rapper Ja Rule just got some more time tacked onto his current sentence. On Monday (July 18), Rule (born Jeffrey Atkins) was sentenced to 28 months in prison to run concurrent with his existing sentence for failing to file tax returns with the IRS for more than $1.1 million in taxes.

Rule's attorney, Stacey Richman, told MTV News she is grateful the court didn't judge the rapper on his public persona. "We were all very concerned about what the potentials were, and we think that the outcome was very fair and that the court took him into account as an individual, and we appreciate that tremendously," she said.

In December 2010, Rule pleaded guilty to attempted gun possession stemming from a 2007 arrest. The 35-year old MC turned himself in June 8 to begin the bid, and got hit with the additional time Monday in a New Jersey federal court.

The sentence was the result of Ja's March admission of his failure to file for money earned from 2004 to 2006. So if anybody out there is keeping tally he got 2 years for gun charges  and they added 28 months for tax evasion, so we will round this out too 5 years...Dammmn!!
