Wyclef was treated for the gunshot wound at a local hospital and released a couple of hours later. A rep for the hip hop star/political activist said, “He’s fine now.” No one else was injured. This comes on the eve of the nation’s presidential runoff. Wyclef, who announced his bid in August, dropped out later that month following Haiti’s Provisional Electoral Council’s rejection of his bid. He was in Haiti to show his support for Michel Martelly as he takes on former First Lady Mirlande Manigat. The results of the runoff are expected April 16.
