NEW MUSIC: JANET JACKSON FEAT. MISSY ELLIOTT – ‘BURNITUP!’

We first got a taste of Janet Jackson and Missy Elliott’s “BURNITUP!” collaboration when video surfaced of Janet opening her tour with the song. Now, the highly anticipated track is finally here, and it’s every bit as much a jam as you’d hope from the two legends.

The beat is electronic and uptempo, with processed vocal samples and crisp house drums. Janet plays the sci-fi diva, exhorting “Mr. DJ” to “turn it up” and the crowd to “dance like no-one’s watching.” Missy is a burst of exuberance, rapping in double time—”Make it work, make it work, make it work” she bellows.
It’s a cutting edge jam from two artists who have never been anything but. Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable drops Oct. 2.

HYPE...? EMPIRE AND BLACK-ISH? WHO DID YOU WATCH...AND WHO WENT TO DVR?

Last night Empire and Blackish returned for season 2.

Did they live up to the hype..?

Empire's Lucious Lyon proved he's still running things from behind bars and on Blackish Andre and Rainbow fought to keep their son Jack from being expelled after he used the N-word in school.

Did Empire live up to the hype and did Andre and Bow make a valid case for Black kids using the N-word? We like them both, but will have to give the lead to Black-ish for trying to send a positive message at the end of every show.

I hope all families watch Black-ish it's pure fun and entertainment. But we still like our boo..boo kitty!

So who you with?

ADELE NEW ALBUM RELEASE IN NOVEMBER

Adele’s comeback has been long in the making. The British singer’s 2011 blockbuster album 21 destroyed the charts with over 11 million copies sold in the U.S. and more than 30 million worldwide.

Since then—nada. Therefore, you can expect her to make serious waves at the tail end of 2015, when she finally releases the follow-up.

According to HITS Daily Double, the long-awaited album is set for a Nov. 20 release, with the first single to drop in the first or second week of November.
While details remain scarce, she has reportedly been working with Danger Mouse, Max Martin, Tobias Jesso Jr., and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote “Rumour Has It” on 21.
The forthcoming album will be her last on Sony/XL. However, she has reportedly already signed a new worldwide deal with Sony, said to be valued at more than $50 million.

In addition, Adele will take over NBC with four appearances on “Today,” “SNL,” a prime-time special, and one more appearance to be announced. The exclusive deal will still allow her to perform at the 2016 Grammys. The last time she was there in 2012, she won six awards in one night.

JAY-Z , DRAKE AND DIDDY TOP FORBES HIP HOP CASH KINGS LIST

A lot of rappers love to brag about their place on the Forbes list—truthfully or not. Now, the annual Forbes Hip-Hop Cash Kings list is out, and it shows us who’s actually raking it in.

It’s not much of a surprise that the year’s top earners made a lot of their cash outside of shows and record releases, with most owning successful brands. The Money Making Mitch himself, Sean “Diddy” Combs, dethrones Dr. Dre for No. 1 with $60 million, largely through his Ciroc vodka and other brands. The Bad Boy mogul, who is readying his next album No Way Out II, also has his TV network Revolt, clothing line Sean John, and alkaline water brand Aquahydrate, which help account for his fortune.

For the second year in a row, Jay Z comes in a close second with $56 million, which he earned through Roc Nation and Armand de Brignac champagne.
Drake pulled up in third place (up from No. 4 last year) with $39.5 million, from his busy touring schedule along with Sprite and Nike endorsements.

Rounding out the top five are Dr. Dre ($33 million) and Pharrell Williams ($32 million). See a full list below.
