MAGIC JOHNSON & DIDDY ARE LAUNCHING NEW CABLE CHANNELS

Is there nothing Magic & Diddy don't own?  From Liquor, clothes lines, Starbucks, colognes, record companies, movie theatres, and now you can add cable network to the list.  This is AWESOME!

Comcast officially announced yesterday that they will be working with Sean “Diddy” Combs and Earvin “Magic” Johnson to launch their own branded cable channels!
The move comes as part of a congressional mandate given to Comcast to support TV networks owned by minorities. The independently owned channels will be broadly distributed to Comcast Cable systems between July 2012 and July 2014.

Johnson’s Aspire, a partnership with GMC TV that is set to launch this summer, will deliver “enlightening, entertaining and positive programming to African-Americans families,” according to Comcast.

Diddy’s new network will be called “Revolt,” and will reportedly target young people. The channel is set to launch in 2013.

VIDEO: BRANDY & MONICA PLANNING A WORLD TOUR, PERFORMANCE

The R & B Jr. Divas, are teaming up set on a summer tour. Monica recently told Hot 93.7′s Jenny Boom Boom that she’s planning to hit the road with Brandy.

Monica says they’re currently working to gather sponsors and find people who will get them “in the cities” they feel they should be performing in. Brandy and Monica just recently released their new single “It All Belongs To Me,” which will be included on both of their upcoming albums.
Monica says they’re dedicated to the track in a different way than they were with their 1998 duet “The Boy Is Mine.” She explains that they’re old enough now to know that “there’s strength in unity,” which makes working together much more enjoyable.

The ladies hit up the Tonight Show last week for an impressive, soulful performance of their new jam for Jay Leno’s audience.

VIDEO: STAR JONES RETURNED TO THE VIEW AFTER 6 YEAR ABSENCE

It’s been quite a while since Star Jones last graced the stage of “The View,” but her return was, remarkably, several notches more subdued than her controversial departure.

Jones, 49, left the show in a huff in 2006 after learning her contract had not been renewed for a 10th season, throwing co-host and creator Barbara Walters’ plan to jointly announce her departure under the bus.

“I take responsibility for my own behavior, but I won’t take responsibility if I did not make a decision I couldn’t live with,” she said after joining current co-hosts Walters, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd onstage.

“I made the decision to go out on my own terms, to control it, so that if I was ever invited back, I would feel good about it.”

“Are we really going to go here, Barbara?” Jones quipped. “Do we care at this point? I honestly don’t.

“It was ugly. Everything. It was a bad emotional time. Nasty things were being said in the media,” she said, after finally relenting and talking about the incident, at the insistence of Walters.

For her part, Jones was glad to be back, too. Following her appearance, she tweeted, “Fun @theviewtv. It is easy to walk through the PAST when your present is so good & your FUTURE is so promising.”

GRAPIC CONTENT NATIONAL ENQUIRER POST WHITNEY HOUSTON OPEN CASKET PICS

The National Enquirer has some serious bastards on there payroll and will never be mistaken for Readers Digest.  This week they took the extraordinary step of running a photo of what they say is Whitney Houston in her open casket prior to her funeral on Saturday.

This shouldn't be much of  a shock sources are reminiscent of the time back in 1977 when Elvis Presley died and yet again the Enquirer had his open casket on the front page. I know the family has to be heartbroken that this picture has been released.  She looks so peaceful and beautiful, this is still so, so, sad.

Crazy how sometimes you can’t trust the people you call your friends. Sources report that someone in Whitney Houston’s camp sold images of the late queen of pop to the National Enquirer.  No word on how much they paid for the picture.

So we ask? Did The Enquirer go too far? Is this part for the course with today's tabloid journalism or both?

VIDEO: IDRIS ELBA TALKS ABOUT NEW ROLE HE WILL PLAY NELSON MANDELA

Sexy Idris was out promoting his new film, Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance, where he stars opposite Nicholas Cage, Idris Elba told Hip Hollywood that he will indeed play Nelson Mandela in the biopic Long Walk to Freedom, based on the book of the same title.

Although it has been a few months since we saw reports that the first time Golden Globe winner would portray Mandela, we’ve not seen him address the role publicly. Elba admits “that’s where my head is geared this summer.”
We figured it wouldn’t be long before a biopic about South Africa’s first President to be elected in a democratic process would hit the screen. In the film, Winnie, which premiered at the TIFF last year, the Madela’s are portrayed by Jennifer Hudson and Terrence Howard.  Peep Video Below:

TEEN PICS OF WHITNEY HOUSTON HAPPY BEFORE THE FAME LED TO HER TRAGIC DEMISE

While the last images of Whitney Houston alive depicted a troubled and worse for wear star, photographs uncovered from the days before her fame tell a very different story.
She may be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, but Houston, who died on February 11 aged 48, in fact began her career as a model.

Images of the star modelling for Seventeen Magazine in 1981 show a fresh-faced and hopeful young girl who had her whole life ahead of her.

Fresh-faced: Whitney graced the cover of Seventeen magazine two years before signing a record deal
Two years after the singer graced the cover of the teen magazine, she landed a record deal with Arista and began putting together her first album.

The cause of death is yet to be confirmed, pending toxicology reports which are expected to be released in a few weeks. Houston was laid to rest on Sunday in her homeland of Newark, New Jersey, following her funeral the day before.

JAY-Z & BEYONCE COURTSIDE AT THE KNICKS VS NETS GAME

New mom Beyonce is slowly getting back in the swing of things, and last night she was glowing. Hip hop royalty took some time off from diaper duty from daughter baby "Blue Ivy to witness Lin-sanity up close and personal at Madison Square Garden on Presidents day.

Lin mania got shut down as Jay’s team toke on (and defeated) the NBA’s newest star Jeremy Lin and his team. Beyonce dressed down—radiant in a yellow blazer and dark denim—happily signed an autograph for a young fan before returning home to her month-and-a-half-old baby.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIHANNA ...SAYS CHRIS BROWN HERE'S THE TWEETS & HER REPLY...PLUS THERE NEW SONGS!

Right around midnight last night, Brown took to his Twitter to write "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBYN!" -- Robyn Fenty being Rihanna's real name.

Finally some concrete proof that Chris Brown and Rihanna are communicating again: He wished her a Happy Birthday on Twitter!

It wasn't long after that the birthday girl, who was physically assaulted by Chris in 2009, responded "Thanks!" and re-tweeted the message.

While Chris attended the singer's b-day bash last week, there was no evidence of them partying together because his people slapped anyone holding a camera with a confidentiality agreement.

The birthday message comes as rumors continue to swirl about the two collaborating on a remix for one of their new singles ... though neither has confirmed the story yet.

Rihanna’s next single, “Birthday Cake,” is in jeopardy  due to the controversy surrounding Chris Brown’s feature on the track. The much talked about “Birthday Cake” remix is the full length version of the interlude off Rihanna’s gold album, Talk That Talk.

Let's face it these two dysfunctional people really want to be together and are easing into it.

Rihanna turns 24 today. Happy B'day!

Listen: Rihanna feat. Chris Brown - Birthday Cake (Remix)--can you believe she made these songs with Chris Brown? We must admit we like this song although it's from her ex-con/ex- boyfriend woman beater!
