JAY-Z LAUNCHES BARNEY'S COLLECTION AND BEYONCE SHOWS SUPPORT AND MODELS

Mrs. Carter also showed support for her man on Instagram, modeling items from the New York-inspired collection including a Moncler puffer varsity jacket ($2,300), python-brimmed leather “Brooklyn” cap ($875), Elder Statesman cashmere ski mask ($700), and gold New York City ring ($12,500).
Jay Z launched his BNY SCC designer collection with Barneys New York on Wednesday. Later in the evening, Beyoncé was by her man’s side at the launch event at the flagship store on Madison Avenue. There was little fanfare as the couple held court with some of the designers.
Following claims that Barneys employees racially profiled black customers, Jay Z decided to move forward with the collaboration, but with new terms. As part of the deal, Barneys will donate 100% of sales from the BNY SCC collection to The Shawn Carter Foundation.
Jay Z vowed to tackle the controversy head on. “I am in a unique position to use my voice to affect change to this disturbing issue,” he said in a statement. “I will not leave the outcome to others.”
A larger event was planned to kick off the collaboration, but was canceled in the aftermath of the allegations.

BEST MAN HOLIDAY STEALS ALL THOR'S THUNDER 30 MILLION DOLLAR BOX OFFICE OPENING

lesson of this weekend’s box office is two-fold. First of all, we have another shining example of why ranking is relatively irrelevant. Thor: The Dark World is actually not the top film on Friday. But while it will likely be the top film of the weekend, it is not the top story of the weekend. Universal’s The Best Man Holiday, a sequel to The Best Man fourteen years after.

The long-percolating sequel - writer-director Malcolm D. Lee's original film came out nearly 15 years ago - delivered an eye-popping $30.5 million in its debut, about $10 million beyond pre-release projections. It cost just $17 million to make, so it's a big win for distributor Universal.

The second lesson of the weekend is yet another one that should have been learned by now: Yes, black people go to the movies. We all like to act surprised over and over when Tyler Perry scores again or when Kevin Hart’s concert film breaks out in limited release. But black audiences like seeing themselves on screen.

More importantly, they really like seeing black characters onscreen in starring roles in films that don’t necessarily revolve around racially-based adversity. When Hollywood bothers to make films like that, African-American audiences generally show up in relatively solid numbers.

Malcolm D. Lee - who produced with Sean Daniel - reassembled the ensemble of the first film for this holiday sequel, the week's only wide release. Morris Chestnut, Taye Diggs, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Monica Calhoun and Melissa De Sousa reprise their career-launching roles in "Best Man Holiday."

Marketing for the film directly targeted African Americans, particularly women. It connected, and even became something of a reunion party for many fans. Fandango reported 40 percent of advance ticket buyers said they'd see it with a group of four or more.

Critics liked "Best Man Holiday" (72 percent on Rotten Tomatoes), but audiences loved it and gave it a rare "A+" CinemaScore, suggesting it will have a healthy shelf life over the holidays.  We personally saw it and this is sure to be a classic following up with what we share to be a part 3.  Best Man Holiday in theaters now check your local listings for times and dates.

VIDEO: KANYE WEST SPEAKS AT HARVARD SCHOOL OF DESIGN

While the 33-year-old rapper abandoned his English studies at Chicago State University in 1996, he has gone on to huge professional success and was asked to address a lecture hall full of students at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

He famously dropped out of college to pursue his music career but Kanye West returned to higher education on Sunday to give a speech.
“I really do believe that the world can be saved through design, and everything needs to actually be “architect-ed.”
“I believe that utopia is actually possible–but we’re led by the least noble, the least dignified, the least tasteful, the dumbest, and the most political.”
- Kanye West

SNL' LADY GAGA AND R. KELLY RAUNCHY PERFORMANCE OF "DO WHAT U WANT"

Chester the, Kellz carried Gaga over his shoulder, spanked her, and did push-ups on top of her during the raunchy performance. It appears someone channeling there inner Miley Cyrus.

The freaks came out when Lady Gaga took over “Saturday Night Live.” In addition to hosting, the pop superstar performed her ARTPOP single “Do What U Want” with R. Kelly for the first time, and the result was nothing short of explosive. The two turned the stage into a bedroom as they rolled on the floor and put their hands all over one another.

After wiping the sweat off the stage, a solo Gaga returned later in the show to perform “Gypsy.” She started off playing a pink piano and then rocked out on guitar.
