TAMAR BRAXTON ON GMA STATES " I DID NOT IMMEDIATELY FALL IN LOVE WITH MY SON

Reality TV star and singer Tamar Braxton has always been outspoken about her struggles during pregnancy, and she’s being just as candid after giving birth to her son, Logan.

In an exclusive interview with “Good Morning America” correspondent Abbie Boudreau, Braxton, who stars in the WE tv reality show “Braxton Family Values,” talked about her post-baby issues.
She revealed that she didn’t immediately fall in love with Logan, who is now 2 months old.
“I loved him, you know,” she said. “But I wasn’t like ‘oh, gosh, yes my baby, ooh,’ you know. It wasn’t that. It was more like what do I do now, you know?”

Asked whether she ever felt completely unattached to the baby, the “Love and War” singer told Boudreau: “I guess in a sense I did feel unattached because you know, I really, really wanted to connect with him because I wanted to breast-feed. And when he didn’t latch on and when I couldn’t produce milk I just felt like, ‘Is this the wrong child?’ You know what I mean? ‘Am I the wrong mother?’”
Braxton, 36, didn’t feel depressed, but she said she felt disappointed. She explained her emotions when she was first handed her son after his birth. “You’re in shock,” she said. “And you know, it took me a few days to really, like, come to terms with the fact that I am a mom and this is my baby.”

Uncomfortable in her new role as a mother, Braxton said she didn’t change her son’s diaper for the first week and a half after his birth. Her hands-on husband, Vince Herbert, took on the diaper duty.
“Well you know, I was questioning my motherhood. … Like, is this a mistake that God made? Or like, is this something that I need to hand over to my husband because he and the baby connected instantly. And I wanted that. And I guess I was a little jealous, pretty much. Am I being really honest here? I guess I am,” she said.

Mental health experts like psychologist Stacy Kaiser say Braxton’s experience is common.
RECIPE: The Braxton Family’s Strawberry Shortcake.
“The research says that 20 to 30 percent of moms feel this way.  And I actually think it’s higher. It’s just that most moms are too embarrassed to admit it,” Kaiser told “GMA.”
Braxton said that once her son started to breast-feed, she finally felt a connection to him.
“When he finally latched on I felt like he got me and I got him and this was all meant to be,” she said.

Braxton is now busier than ever. She’s working on her upcoming album, starring in a new WE tv reality show, “Tamar & Vince,” and hosting a new talk show, but she says being a mother is her number one priority.
“I am very happy. I feel complete … he is the best thing that ever happened to me,” she said, speaking of her son.

KANYE WEST & DONDA’S HOUSE INSTITUTE ‘GOT BARS?’ – A MUSIC INITIATIVE FOR AT-RISK YOUTH IN CHICAGO

As of late, most news referring to Kanye West has been in a negative light, whether it be about his changing music or frequent bashing of the papparazzi. Because of this, it is nice to hear positive news out of his camp, especially when it comes to helping the youth in his hometown of Chicago.

Donda’s House, a charity co-founded by Kanye and named after his late mother, Dr. Donda West and the Windy City’s St. Sabina Church have teamed up to create the Got Bars? program, in an effort to serve at-risk youth in Chicago’s South Side.
Got Bars? is a free 10-week musical instruction program that will teach young people aged 15 to 24 to write and record their own music. Classes will be held in The ARK of St. Sabina, the church’s youth community center

My mom spent her life as an educator and I am happy that Donda’s House can pick up her torch and honor her life’s mission.
The studio sessions will be led by none other than Kanye protege, Grammy-award winning rapper Rhymefest. In addition to music instruction, there will be a exercise and nutrition component of the program, spearheaded by a yet-to-be named former professional football player.
Upon completion of the program, students’ music will be compiled into an EP, and released via Donda’s House. If you live in the Chicago area and fit the age requirements, visit Dondashouse.com to apply. Applications are due on Friday, August 2nd.

RAPPER NELLY BRINGS OUT CLEVELAND KIDNAP VICTIM AMANDA BERRY ON STAGE WITH HIM

It's so good to see that she is getting back to living, One of three women held captive in a Cleveland home for a decade appeared on stage at a concert yesterday alongside rapper Nelly - her first public event since her rescue, which came a day after her abductor pleaded guilty.

Amanda Berry made a surprise appearance at the day-long concert RoverFest in Cleveland on Saturday night, walking on stage with her family and waving at the cheering crowd before reemerging later again to join rapper Nelly.
Wearing sunglasses and dressed in jeans and a black T-shirt, Berry smiled broadly while acknowledging the applause, but she didn't address the crowd.

Her appearance was notable at least on a symbolic level: Riding a pair of monster hits, Nelly's star was burning brightest just before Berry's sudden disappearance into captivity at age 16 in April 2003.
"He said, 'Everyone, here's Amanda Berry,' and she came out with a friend, another young woman," concertgoer Kayleigh Fladung told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "She didn't say anything, but she was smiling and happy. She waved to the crowd, everyone went crazy cheering, and she went backstage. Nelly did his set, four or five songs, and then he brought her out again and everyone cheered."

Berry, now 27, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight disappeared between 2002 and 2004 when they were 14, 16 and 20 years old.
The possibility of Berry participating in a grueling trial was voided Friday as Castro accepted a plea bargain for life in prison without parole plus 1,000 years -- a sum intended to ensure that Castro, 52, would die behind bars. The death penalty was waived as part of the deal.
In comments to a judge Friday,  piece of SH**T Castro blamed a pornography addiction and mentioned being sexually abused as a child.
The women didn't attend the court proceeding but said in a statement that they were relieved by the conviction and looking forward to the end of the legal proceedings.
In other Cleveland victim news, This weekend Gina DeJesus and her family said they were grateful after volunteers installed a $3,000, six-foot privacy fence.  These brave young ladies are trying to piece there life together one day at a time. So happy about there progress.

They paid tribute to their late member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes as the crowd lit up the sky during “Waterfalls.”
“This song was true and dear to her heart and I’m sure it means a lot to you guys,” said Chilli. “If you have a lighter or a cell phone, iPads, computers, whatever you got, light it up. This is dedicated to Lisa, to Left Eye.”
They closed with “No Scrubs,” bringing out Lil Mama, who rapped and performed choreography during Left Eye’s part.
“We love ya’ll. TLC forever. Thank you!” said Chilli, who embraced T-Boz as they walked offstage.
