Bishop Thomas W. Weeks III was blaming the devil for accusations that he viciously beat his wife, evangelist and gospel singer Juanita Bynum, in the parking lot of an Atlanta hotel.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bishop Weeks drew cheers and applause as he was introduced during service Sunday at Global Destiny Ministries, the Atlanta church he founded. Addressing the congregation just two days after turning himself in to authorities on the charges, Weeks said the devil was behind his current situation. He also expressed appreciation for the prayers and support he and his wife have received.

"We've got certain things going on right now, but I refuse to stop coming to the house God built," he said during his brief appearance before introducing a guest minister and leaving the room.
Currently free on bond, Weeks was charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threats following the confrontation, which police say left his estranged wife badly bruised. He is due in Fulton County Superior Court on Sept. 7.
Meanwhile, members of his congregation at Global Destiny Ministries have decided to wait for all the facts before passing judgment or taking sides in the matter.
"There are three sides to every story," said frequent visitor Shannon Mayers, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Nobody has the right to judge anybody. God is in the midst of that and will work it out."
Maurice Adams, 26, said he was disappointed to hear the news but still considers Weeks his bishop.

I know we all make mistakes as Christians, but everybody us so quick to blame the devil for there mental issues. I don't give the devil no credit, he is not God. The devil is not everywhere, only God.the devil has demons that does a lot of the devil dirty work. You say the bible says not to touch his anointed, then why did he do that to her. She being a prophetess, she is anointed. So what gives him the right to do that, and I do not believe that is the first time he's done that. God says to live by the lands of this law, and whatever he gets, is what he deserves by the laws of this land. There's no excuse to put your hands on nobody woman or man, I don't care who you are he deserves to be in jail. And he needs to step down as a pastor, you might say I'm judging him. I am, because it says in God's work anyone spiritual can judge all things. I am baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost, that does not make me able to go out beating on women. He wrong and so are you for defending the acts that he did, it also says in the word of God. A person that agrees or entertains with a sinful Act is just as bad as the person that committed the act and can be damned to hell. You want a quote Bible, make sure you quote Bible right
