The gig is up after having millions of people watch the saga for nearly two hours as military aircraft tracked the balloon in the air to the ground. Heene pretended that his 6yr old son was trapped in a balloon flying over Colorado in hopes of a reality show. Richard Heene, the mastermind behind the balloon boy stunt, has surrendered himself to the police, above pic is his booking photo taken in Colorado after he turned himself in on Thursday.
Mayumi Heene has been charged with one count of false reporting to authorities, a misdemeanor. Richard Heene turned himself in Thursday afternoon and was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond. The couple is expected in court on November 13.
Heene and his wife Mayumi are expected to plead guilty to a hoax: he to a felony offense of attempting to influence a public servant and she to a misdemeanor offense of false reporting to authorities.
