Michael Jackson received five posthumous American Music Award nominations, and the upcoming ABC award show will turn to one of Jackson's siblings to open its broadcast. Janet Jackson will open the AMA's on Nov. 22, which is billed as a special performance. Janet will also be releasing her greatest hits album Number Ones on November 17 with a new single to be released "Make Me".
Whitney Houston is also set to return to the AMA stage for her first primetime U.S. network performance in five years. She will sing her powerhouse ballad “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” and receive the International Artist Award.
