First let me start off again saying I don't believe this Mariah with Nick cannon risking her Millions against his pennies is this "Instant Love"??, he was engaged last year to the Victoria Secret model. But here's the new word on the street. Nick Cannon's family has confirmed that the 27-year-old actor has wed singer Mariah Carey, 39.
Family member Linda Cannon told E! that Nick called her with the good news.
"Yes, we know. He called us and told us all about it," she said. "We are happy for him. If that is what he wants, then we are happy for him."
She added, "I'm not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him."
Latina magazine first broke the news Thursday.
The New York Post also reported that they secretly got hitched at Carey's new home in Eleuthera in the Bahamas.
The Post quoted a source as saying,
"There was no prenup - there wasn't time."
Another Carey pal told the Post, "Everyone is happy to see her happy. And it could work out - some people know each other for five years and get divorced. Maybe this is true, instant love."
Carey recently has been sporting a 17-carat diamond ring that looks similar to the one Cannon gave his ex Selita Ebanks, but Ebanks' rep said yesterday it is not the same ring.
Carey, 38, met the 27-year-old rapper-actor when he directed the video for her latest single, "Bye Bye," in late March.
"It's hot and heavy,"
an insider told Us Weekly in its latest issue, on newsstands now.
Cannon attended the premiere of Carey's film, Tennessee, in NYC on April 26.
Carey told Us it was "very nice" to work with Cannon, who, when asked what he loved about the singer, exclaimed, "Everything!"
Carey was previously married to music mogul Tommy Mottola. They divorced in 1998. As much as I like Nick cannon he still to me is a little boy. All the news media are writing about this so something is up. This relationship is just plain weird. They dont seem right for each other at all. But, they do say that opposites attract.
