This is sad Police sources tells PageSix that Heath Ledger 28 years old did not die of a suicide. The actor was found naked on the bed in his New York apartment this afternoon, with an open bottle of sleeping pills near his body. NYPD Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne said that there were three prescription bottles found, all in Heath's name. He wouldn't elaborate on what the pills were but said that they included sleeping pills.

"There were some still left in the bottle," he said. "They were not scattered around the apartment."

Browne confirmed that Heath was found face-down at the foot of the bed, unclothed, and his body was half off the bed. "The room was not in disarray," Browne said. "There were no apparent signs of foul play." Police sources tell that a masseuse arrived at the Broke back Mountain star's downtown apartment at 2:45 p.m. for a daily scheduled appointment and was let into his place by a housekeeper.
