The 31-year old Kenyan (by way of Mexico) beauty broke the news just moments ago, saying “I am truly honored to join Maison Lancôme, a brand with such a prestigious history that I have always loved. I am particularly proud to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself.”
According to Lorraine Weisman, WWD’s fashion and beauty editor, it was only a matter of time before cosmetics companies came calling.
Lupita’s ability to move beauty products was proven on Oscar night when she flashed a tube of Clarins HydraQuench Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm, which quickly sold out nationwide.
Lupita’s appearance in Miu Miu’s Spring 2014 campaign has also paid off handsomely; with the fashion house calling the actress’ fashion spread a “rousing success.”
Look for Lancôme commercials and print ads featuring Lupita to begin appearing in September.
