According to our sources, King's fiancée, Cynthia Kelley, is telling friends King was at the house all day drinking, and he smoked marijuana at some point, before she went to went to bed at 2:00 AM.
We're told Kelley says she next saw King at around 5:00 AM when she was awoken by him screaming in the backyard. Our sources say Kelley found King naked, banging on the glass, and she called out to him, "What's wrong, Rodney?"
Kelley is telling friends she then went to grab her phone when she heard a big splash. She then went to the backyard and discovered him in the bottom of the pool and called police.
Paramedics attempted to revive King, but were unsuccessful. Rodney King, a man best known for being beaten up by Los Angeles police and triggering the worst urban riots in a generation.
When the four police officers were acquitted in a trial in Simi Valley in 1992, South Los Angeles. After that Rodney King settled in court, and since blew the money in a matter of years. Rodney stated:
"I made a bad mistake by running from them."King told interviewers last April that he had spent nearly all of the $3.8 million in civil judgments he had won against the LAPD, spending it on lawyers, relatives and himself.
King admits to being a recovering addict who suffers nightmares and flashbacks from the severe beating. But King also said he forgave the officers.
Various interviews with King during the 20th anniversary of the L.A. riots last April said he lived in Rialto, CA.
