The annual event will be held this year at the Louisiana Superdome during the Fourth of July weekend.
Michelle Ebanks, President, Essence Communications Inc., states: "This past year has been amazing for these talented performers and our audience will be thrilled to welcome them home for the ultimate Fourth of July weekend party."
As tradition mandates, R&B supergroup Maze featuring Frankie Beverly will close out the three-day festival on July 6, as they have done since the event began in 1995.
