NEW MUSIC: JANET JACKSON FEAT. MISSY ELLIOTT – ‘BURNITUP!’

We first got a taste of Janet Jackson and Missy Elliott’s “BURNITUP!” collaboration when video surfaced of Janet opening her tour with the song. Now, the highly anticipated track is finally here, and it’s every bit as much a jam as you’d hope from the two legends.

The beat is electronic and uptempo, with processed vocal samples and crisp house drums. Janet plays the sci-fi diva, exhorting “Mr. DJ” to “turn it up” and the crowd to “dance like no-one’s watching.” Missy is a burst of exuberance, rapping in double time—”Make it work, make it work, make it work” she bellows.
It’s a cutting edge jam from two artists who have never been anything but. Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable drops Oct. 2.

HYPE...? EMPIRE AND BLACK-ISH? WHO DID YOU WATCH...AND WHO WENT TO DVR?

Last night Empire and Blackish returned for season 2.

Did they live up to the hype..?

Empire's Lucious Lyon proved he's still running things from behind bars and on Blackish Andre and Rainbow fought to keep their son Jack from being expelled after he used the N-word in school.

Did Empire live up to the hype and did Andre and Bow make a valid case for Black kids using the N-word? We like them both, but will have to give the lead to Black-ish for trying to send a positive message at the end of every show.

I hope all families watch Black-ish it's pure fun and entertainment. But we still like our boo..boo kitty!

So who you with?

ADELE NEW ALBUM RELEASE IN NOVEMBER

Adele’s comeback has been long in the making. The British singer’s 2011 blockbuster album 21 destroyed the charts with over 11 million copies sold in the U.S. and more than 30 million worldwide.

Since then—nada. Therefore, you can expect her to make serious waves at the tail end of 2015, when she finally releases the follow-up.

According to HITS Daily Double, the long-awaited album is set for a Nov. 20 release, with the first single to drop in the first or second week of November.
While details remain scarce, she has reportedly been working with Danger Mouse, Max Martin, Tobias Jesso Jr., and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote “Rumour Has It” on 21.
The forthcoming album will be her last on Sony/XL. However, she has reportedly already signed a new worldwide deal with Sony, said to be valued at more than $50 million.

In addition, Adele will take over NBC with four appearances on “Today,” “SNL,” a prime-time special, and one more appearance to be announced. The exclusive deal will still allow her to perform at the 2016 Grammys. The last time she was there in 2012, she won six awards in one night.

JAY-Z , DRAKE AND DIDDY TOP FORBES HIP HOP CASH KINGS LIST

A lot of rappers love to brag about their place on the Forbes list—truthfully or not. Now, the annual Forbes Hip-Hop Cash Kings list is out, and it shows us who’s actually raking it in.

It’s not much of a surprise that the year’s top earners made a lot of their cash outside of shows and record releases, with most owning successful brands. The Money Making Mitch himself, Sean “Diddy” Combs, dethrones Dr. Dre for No. 1 with $60 million, largely through his Ciroc vodka and other brands. The Bad Boy mogul, who is readying his next album No Way Out II, also has his TV network Revolt, clothing line Sean John, and alkaline water brand Aquahydrate, which help account for his fortune.

For the second year in a row, Jay Z comes in a close second with $56 million, which he earned through Roc Nation and Armand de Brignac champagne.
Drake pulled up in third place (up from No. 4 last year) with $39.5 million, from his busy touring schedule along with Sprite and Nike endorsements.

Rounding out the top five are Dr. Dre ($33 million) and Pharrell Williams ($32 million). See a full list below.

After cheering her on at the U.S. Open, Drake showed up during Serena Williams’ fashion show at New York Fashion Week on Tuesday. He took a front row seat as the tennis pro showed off her Signature Collection by HSN.
Models strut down the runway as Drake songs including “Hotline Bling,” “Ojuelegba,” and “My Love” blared from the speakers.

He caught up with Serena backstage and congratulated her with a kiss on her hand. The two were later spotted together at lunch at Bagatelle.

TONI BRAXTON TO STAR IN LIFETIME BIOPIC-UN-BREAK MY HEART

Music biopics are a hot commodity at the moment, it seems. With Straight Outta Compton making a killing at the box office, it’s not surprising that Lifetime has just given the green light to a forthcoming film about a very different ’90s icon—Toni Braxton.

The original movie will be titled Un-Break My Heart, based on Braxton’s 2014 memoir of the same name. The singer herself will star and executive produce, and Vondie Curtis Hall (Abducted: The Carline White Story) will direct. Deadline reports that production will begin later this year.

Un-Break My Heart chronicles Braxton’s fight against illness, her financial struggles, and the divorce she went through, as well as her son’s autism.

In November, Lifetime aired the unauthorized Aaliyah biopic, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, followed by the Whitney Houston film Whitney earlier this year.

NICKI MINAJ, KANYE WEST, THE WEEKND, & LIL WAYNE PARTY WITH ALEXANDER WANG

Following star-studded shows from Givenchy and Ralph Lauren, Alexander Wang celebrated the 10th anniversary of his label with the wildest party of the week, and music royalty turned out in droves. Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, and Mary J. Blige gathered at Pier 64 to check out the designer’s Spring 2016 collection.

Yeezy arrived solo and tried to avoid photographers by keeping his head covered up under a hoodie. Tyga cozied up with Kylie Jenner, and The Weeknd held hands with his model girlfriend Bella Hadid. Karrueche Tran and a gothic Christina Milian also filled out the front row.

“Someone was NOT having it tonight,” joked Nicki, who was seated next to Kanye. She also snapped a photo with The Weeknd and hinted at a potential collaboration: “Stay tuned.”

After the presentation, guests made their way to the strip club-themed after-party, where they enjoyed cocktails, Jell-O shots, and wings. Pole dancers performed and the designer threw Wang bills into the crowd.

The night capped off with surprise performances from Tinashe, A$AP Ferg, Ludacris, and Lil Wayne, who all hit the stage to entertain the fashionable crowd.

NEW MUSIC: SANAA LATHAN FT. DEJ LOAF – ‘EMOTIONAL’

You read it right...In addition to starring on the big screen in The Perfect Guy, Sanaa Lathan is launching her music career. The actress teams with DeJ Loaf on her debut single “Emotional,” produced by Detail (“Drunk in Love”) and co-produced by Choppa & Sidney.
The song was inspired by a conversation between Lathan and Detail after screening The Perfect Guy where Detail commented to Lathan how emotional her co-star (Michael Ealy) was in the film.

“Life can be amazing when you step outside your comfort zone sometimes and say yes. Who woulda thought I’d have a single out,” said Lathan. “I’m thinking of this as character I’m playing singing this song. She’s my character Leah’s (in #ThePerfectGuy) ALTER EGO and her name is #BrownSugar.”

For her part, DeJ stays bossed up on her verse and doesn’t let emotion get in the way of building her brand.

BEYONCE COVERS FLAUNT MAGAZINE

She's au naturel.

A flawless Beyoncé appears sans makeup donning just a bra on the cover of Flaunt magazine's CALIFUK issue.

It's one of 12 intimate photos that are featured in the glossy's spread of Queen Bey, who is featured poolside in bras and underwear made by designers La Perla, REHAB, and Orlebar Brown.

Any magazine Beyonce graces outsells Kim Kardashian and Rihanna covers combined or so they say? Photographers describe Beyonce as unsurpassed, deceptive and soulless. I believe it.

This month Beyonce covers Flaunt magazine. And as is her right as one of the privileged few, she mumbles nary a word inside the magazine.

The photo shoot took place in Los Angeles and was snapped by Bey’s photographer, Robin Harper.

Flaunt‘s editors convinced Beyonce to share her thoughts with their readers — on paper.

Details:

Bra and underwear LA PERLA

The singer recently celebrated her 34th birthday on Sept. 4th and scenes from her performance at the 2015 Budweiser Made in America concert over the weekend became an instant viral sensation.

SEASON 3 MARY JANE (PREVIEW) JILL SCOTT, LORETTA DEVINE AND MORE GUEST STAR

Missing Mary Jane? It’s time to start the official countdown to season three, which EW can announce will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 20 in its new time slot at 9 p.m. ET on BET.

Next season will involve a lot of changes for our heroine, who finds herself battling interlopers in both her personal and professional life.
The new time slot isn’t the new thing about the Gabrielle Union-starrer about a cable news anchor juggling career, family and romance. Loretta Devine (Grey’s Anatomy) and singer-actress Jill Scott (The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency) will join the hard-hitting series as guest stars this season, EW has learned exclusively.

Devine — who earned an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress for her work as Adele Webber on Grey’s — will play Cecilia, a bookstore owner whose car was hit by Mary Jane’s vehicle in the OMG-what-just-happened car accident that occurred in the last moments of the season 2 finale. It seems as theirs isn’t an accident that results in MJ simply handing over her insurance info, since Cecilia will extort her for a whopping $25,000. And that won’t be the end of their relationship, as later in the 10-episode series, the two characters will unexpectedly grow close when Cecilia “offers MJ unwanted, but invaluable, pieces of advice and wisdom,” says BET.
Season 3 will pick up immediately after last season’s finale saw a newly promoted MJ discover the truth about Lisa (Latarsha Rose) and her ex David (Stephen Bishop)’s relationship just moments after she broke up with Sheldon (Gary Dourdan). The upcoming season will find an injured Mary Jane “sidelined at work when a beautiful young Latina anchor, Marisol, shines as her replacement, while she is out on medical leave,” says BET. Though Mary Jane manages to save her job (whew!), she later embarks on a “life cleanse” that makes her rethink her career path and personal life.

READY...? ‘EMPIRE’ DEBUTS NEW MUSIC FROM SEASON 2

Art imitates life—Columbia Records has shared two new songs off the forthcoming soundtrack to the second season of “Empire,” which is almost as anticipated as the show itself.

“No Doubt About It” is an uptempo club track, with Jussie Smollett (Jamal Lyon) collaborating with none other than Pitbull. Ne-Yo has a writing credit on the song, as well. The other, “Ain’t About the Money,” features both Smollett and Yazz (Hakeem Lyon). It’s more of a slow-burn R&B track, though it has serious chart potential as well.

The soundtrack is due this fall, while Season 2 of “Empire” premieres Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.

ARE THEY FOR REAL? CELEBRITY MAMAS OF ATLANTA...COMING SOON!

So let's see how many reality shows in Atlanta...as many as they want to. Another senseless show is making it's way to your television screens.  Get ready because they’re coming soon.

The new reality show stars smothers of A- through Z-list celebrities who call Atlanta home.

The show will follow the Golden Ladies or senior citizens, which some might call as they dispense advice and love to their famous (and not-so-famous) offspring. Cameras will follow them as they share their personal lives and run their numerous non-profit charity organizations.
Leading the pack is Tameka “Tiny” Harris‘s mom (Diane Cottle, 2nd from left in top picture, and her bestie, Violeta Morgan (Rapper T.I.’s mom) far left in top picture.

“Mama” Joyce Burruss (Kandi Burruss‘ mom), 4th from right in the pic below, is desperate to flee the hot mess that is RHOA.

They are joined by Brenda Johnson (Syleena Johnson’s Mom); Shirleen Harvell (Rasheeda Frost’s mom); Lorna Wyatt (KeKe Wyatt’s mom); and the mothers of one-hit-wonders, Frances Wellington (J Holiday’s mom); Shauna Marie Campbell (rapper K Camp’s mom); and Morenika Vinnie (rapper Ca$h Out’s mom, wearing blue hairdo).

The producers promise not to sugarcoat the women’s “heartaches, laughter, drama and mentoring to others.”

Ugh...We can't!!
