ATLANTA HOUSEWIVES PORSHA STEWART MARRIAGE BACK ON THEY ARE IN COUNSELING?

Porsha Stewart is fighting back. A week after husband Kordell Stewart blindsided her by filing for divorce, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 31, submitted her own divorce papers via her attorney, TMZ reports. In the documents, according to TMZ, the Bravo starlet seeks alimony as well as use of their Atlanta mansion. In his original filing, Kordell, 40, had claimed his wife of less than two years didn't need spousal support and could earn her own living.

But, her attorney argues, Porsha stalled her own career for her husband, quitting her job and apparently selling her businesses in order to be a wife and take care of his son from a previous relationship, TMZ reports -- and thus seeks alimony.

"Mrs. Stewart had held off on filing for a divorce herself and remained committed to the marriage because Mr. Stewart promised to work on the marriage with her," Porsha's rep told Us Weekly on Tuesday after new broke of the split. "Instead, he misled her and she found out about the filing in the media."

And with such a rough week, the couple’s marriage appeared to be over. But a new report now alleges that they haven’t called it quits just yet! The couple has been undergoing extensive marriage counseling, both together and separately, a source close to the family told Media Takeout. The source alleges that Porsha and Kordell are working towards reconciliation, and that they have decided to give their marriage another chance.

Allegedly, the couple could announce their plans to get back together as soon as tomorrow, Apr. 1 (we’re not even touching the April Fools implications).

So up until today, Mar. 31, Kordell and Porsha seemed to be quickly headed for a separation. A statement to Us Weekly from Porsha’s rep seemed to also confirm that. However, with this new report in mind, the statement can be read a little differently:



Porsha’s rep does admit that the couple had discussed working on their marriage, but that the talks were silenced by Kordell’s (possibly premature) divorce papers. Is it possible that Kordell is now recognizing his mistake, and that he and Porsha are back on track towards reconciliation? Reportedly, we may not have to wait more than a day to find out!

If you don't know now you know ...in the words of the late great Biggie smalls, and in this case we mean, reality TV is the death of marriages that are not strong. Former football player Kordell Stewart has filed for divorce from his reality TV star wife Porsha Williams-Stewart.

The 40 year old ex-Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback lodged papers at Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia on Friday to end his marriage to his partner, who appears in "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," according to AP.

William have no children together, although he does have a child from a previous relationship. The news comes amid on-going speculation about Kordell's sexuality.

Just three months ago Real Housewives Of Atlanta Porsha, the granddaughter of civil-rights leader Hosea Williams, defended her husband during a radio interview when asked about rumours he was gay.

Power 105 FM’s Breakfast Club host Charlemagne Tha God asked Porsha in the December exchange: 'You know there were a lot of gay rumours about Kordell at one point. He [allegedly] got caught in the park in Pittsburgh and the police didn’t want to turn him in because he was a star quarterback.'

Porsha responded: 'I don’t know any details of all that. There’s lies out there on the Internet about all kinds of celebrities. 'One thing I do [know] is my husband loves me, and he puts it down and I will be with him forever. He’s more man to me than I have ever met.'

Porsha and Kordell married on May 21, 2011. Early in 2012 Porsha suffered a miscarriage due to uterine fibroids.

In the divorce documents, Kordell says the marriage is 'irretrievably broken' and that they separated, according to TMZ.

  He also says there are no marital assets to be divided, suggesting a prenuptial was signed, writing: '[She's] an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself.'

 

Kordell, who is now a radio sports talkshow co-host with Atlanta's WZGC 92.9 The Game, has a son Syre from a previous relationship with Tania Richardson.

The couple have no children together. Stewart has a son from a previous relationship. Additionally, Stewart has asked the court to find that there are no marital assets to divide.
