Actresses Jada Pinkett Smith and Queen Latifah, last seen together in the 1996 film Set it Off, are set to reunite in the upcoming Will Packer dramedy Girl Trip. Both actresses are reportedly in final negotiations to join Regina Hall who was cast earlier this year.
Girl Trip follows four friends who travel to New Orleans for the yearly Essence Music Festival. Along the way secrets are revealed, friendships are tested and hilarity ensures.
Tracy Oliver and Kenya Barris have penned the film’s script, while Malcolm D. Lee is set to direct. Girl Trip is set to be released in July of 2017.
In the meantime, fans of Latifah can catch her in the upcoming Fox drama Star. While fans of Jada can catch her in the upcoming comedy Bad Moms.
