The Captain America star and his bride wed in a small ceremony in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic while Mackie was in the Caribbean filming Our Brand Is Crisis with Sandra Bullock. The couple tied the knot on the beach at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in front of 150 of their closest friends and family.
“It was low-key and super-relaxed,” says a source who attended the beach wedding. “They had a welcome dinner. We golfed and drank. They went on a honeymoon soon after.”
Mackie and Chapital have known each other since they were seven years old and, after years of on-off dating since elementary school, committed to each other in 2009 while Mackie was in his native New Orleans shooting The Hurt Locker. According to Page Six, the 36-year-old actor closed up shop in New York, where he had been living, last year and moved to New Orleans permanently.
