Black Girls Rock is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young women and impacting how the media affects women.
Also at the ceremony was First Lady Michelle Obama, who spoke during the BET broadcast.
The 51-year-old wore a stunning off the shoulder white dress as she took the stage to congratulate Making A Difference award winner Chental-Song Bembry.
Erykah Badu also performed during the show, sporting an eclectic look made up of denim overalls as well as a patterned overcoat, beaded necklace, and a large, black hat.
Hosts Regina King and Tracee Ellis Ross stunned in form-fitting numbers, with Regina donning a gold romper and silver metallic strappy heels, while Tracee went for a more classic look in a fitted black dress and black pumps.
