Reality bites for Bethenny Frankel. The Real Housewife's daytime talk show, "Bethenny," was canceled Friday, the victim of mediocre ratings and a glut of competition, with Meredith Vieira set to launch her own entry, Deadline.com first reported.
“We are incredibly proud of the creativity, passion and professionalism Bethenny and her staff brought to daytime each and every day and look forward to finishing out the season with more great original episodes,” a rep for the show's production company Telepictures said in a statement.
“While we are disappointed not to be able to bring the series back for a second season, we remain convinced that she has a unique voice and that she will continue to be successful in the future.”The cancellation comes just one month after it seemed Fox stations and Warner Bros. Television would be bringing back the series for a second season.Unfortunately she struggled to stand out in a crowded field. “Bethenny” ranked 106th out of all syndicated programming, drawing a paltry 1.1 million viewers on average, according to Nielsen.
