Dwayne Wade boo has a new project. Fashion house Miu Miu has just unveiled ‘The Door,’ the fifth film in a series of short stories titled ‘The Women’s Tales.’ The flick is directed by Ava DuVernay, the first African American woman to win Best Director prize at the Sundance Film Festival, and stars Gabrielle Union, Emayatzy Corineldi, Adepero Oduye, Alfre Woodard and singer-songwriter Goapele. With Gabrielle in the lead, ‘The Door’ tells the story of a group of friends who look to console her after the break-up of her marriage. According to DuVernay, the door in the film represents a pathway to who we are, and one that Gabby will eventually be “ready to walk through on her own.” Beautifully shot and directed, I know this story will speak to many of us here.
