This is a big role for the man who's known best as the gun-toting, wise cracking grandma name Madea. Tyler Perry is set to play author James Patterson’s brainy, complicated, jazz-loving cop-psychologist Alex Cross, a role that Morgan Freeman has played in two previous films based on Patterson novels.
Variety reports that Perry will play the role in the film “I, Alex Cross.” Freeman played Cross in “Kiss The Girls” and “Along Came a Spider.” Cross is a complex, sophisticated man. He is widowed and lives with his three kids
