CFDA FASHION AWARDS PICS..PHARELL WILLIAMS ACCEPTS ICON AWARD FROM KAYNE WEST

The Council of Fashion Designers of America held its annual CFDA Awards on Monday evening at New York's Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center. The Late Late Show's James Corden, who has quickly become the fashion world's go-to funny man, hosted the event which recognized America's most talented designers. The star-studded presenters list included Kim Kardashian, Amanda Seyfried, Joshua Jackson, Taraji P. Henson, Zachary Quinto and Gigi Hadid.

Often called the "Oscars of fashion," the event also had its fair share of celebrity attendees, including Emmy Rossum, January Jones, Bella Thorne and Dwyane Wayde.

It was Pharrell Williams who was being honored as a fashion icon, but it was another music superstar who got a lot of the attention at the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America awards on Monday night

Introducing Pharrell, the producer-singer-songwriter West took the opportunity not just to praise his friend, but to express some frustration at the fashion industry — for, he suggested, its cool reception to his efforts to be a serious fashion designer.

"It is very difficult to break perception," West said. "Fashion had to be the hardest high school I ever entered. At least I had a big brother," he said, referring to Pharrell, who "talked me through it and kept me going" in the face of criticism over his fashions. West called Pharrell "my style idol."

Pharrell, in turn, thanked many fashion figures who've influenced his career and his personal style, and concluded by saying: "I'm not a style icon. I'm just inspired. And I'm OK with that." Forgoing his famous shorts and tall hat for a very casual ensemble of lived-in jeans, a blue leather jacket and a beret-style cap, he spoke at length about his dual loves of music and fashion, and their relationship to each other. He also made a point of thanking the fashion world's leading arbiter, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, for giving him some key visibility in her magazine a decade ago.

Chrissy Tigen  was also there the 29-year-old supermodel put on a leggy display in a strapless white gown slashed to the thigh as she attended the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City.

JANET JACKSON’S NEW SINGLE COMING WITHIN 30 DAYS

Janet is coming back this June. The pop icon will reportedly release a new single within the next month.

Radio Facts reports (via Billboard) that the untitled song will “hit radio and/or online within 30 days.”

Last month, Janet announced that she will release new music and embark on a world tour before the end of 2015 (She has already started rehearsals). The 49-year-old hasn’t released an album since 2008’s Discipline.

Truly It's Cookie's empire and we're all just living in it.  On Sunday, Taraji P. Henson won her inaugural Critics' Choice Award for Best Actress in Drama Series for her fierce portrayal in the breakout hit Empire at the ceremony held inside the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

The 44-year-old actress accepted her award in stunning style wowing in a black dress that featured silver beaded adornments along the straps and bodice.

'Thank you Fox you're bold, you took a shot, you take a risk': The 44-year-old actress accepted her award with a moving speech.

'I just have to play the truth hopefully they love her for beating her son with a broom,' Taraji joked about her tough character Cookie.

We created such an incredible family on Empire, there's no Cookie without Luscious,' she said referring to her TV husband Terrence Howard.

KIM KARDASHIAN PREGNANT WITH HER SECOND CHILD ....WILL THE NEW NAME BE SOUTHWEST?

So you  have to wonder will Southwest be the new name?  North West is about to become a big sister!

Kim Kardashian revealed that she's expecting her second child with Kanye West in the supertease following tonight's mid-season finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
The clip shows Kim hearing the exciting news during a doctor's appointment shortly before spilling the beans to Khloé Kardashian.

"I just got the blood test back, and I am pregnant!" Kim—who's beaming ear-to-ear—exclaims to her stunned sister.

The brunette bombshell has made no secret of the fact that she's been eager to grow her family of three despite her difficult first pregnancy, and she's documented how hard it's been to get pregnant again on the E! reality series.

In fact, the 10th season follows her "journey of trying to get pregnant for the second time, which has proven to not be as easy as the first time," Kim shared on iTV's Lorraine earlier this year.

Between dramatic procedures and even, ahem, "exhausting" escapades with her hubby, Kim has gone to any length to ensure that she has another child.  

Kim's mom Kris Jenner tweeted her congratulations to the couple and said she can't wait to meet 'your new little love bug.'

Kim gave birth to her first child on June 15, 2013, and she and Kanye tied the knot on May 24, 2014.

Is Jamie Foxx ready to shed his player ways? The Oscar winner thinks he’s found the love of his life in the video for “You Changed Me” featuring Chris Brown.

The X-directed clip starts off with a conversation between the fellas about finding the right lady and settling down. Jamie throws a party at his mansion (“Strippers or no strippers?” he asks Breezy) and his love interest (played by Grace Gealy of “Empire”) shows up. He serenades her and even gets his dance on. Breezy also has his eye on a pretty young thing and the two make love in the hallway before taking it to the bedroom.

“You Changed Me” can be found on Foxx’s album Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses, which debuted at No. 10 with 36,000.

‘EMPIRE’ STARS TO HOST GUYS CHOICE AWARDS + LIP SYNC BATTLE SEASON FINALE

Via press release, the pair will be lending their talents to Spike TV, first in the season finale of their break-out hit Lip Sync Battle, and again in June when the longtime co-stars come together to host the 2015 Guys Choice Awards.

In addition to her hosting duties, Taraji will also be presented with the prestigious Jean Claude Gahd Damn award. Previous winners include Scarlett Johansson, Kate Beckinsale, and The Walking Dead’s Danai Guria (2013) and Lauren Cohan (2014).

The Guys Choice Awards will tape June 8 and air June 18, while the season finale of Lip Sync Battle has not been announced yet, though it has taped as well.

BEYONCÉ, JAY Z, & BLUE IVY VACATION IN ITALY

The Carters escaped to Europe for an early summer vacation. The superstar couple and their daughter Blue Ivy packed their bags and headed to Italy for a lavish getaway, and Queen Bey shared some of the personal pics with her BeyHive on her website.

The “Flawless” singer chowed down on pizza, snacked on gelato, and rode a carousel with Blue. Jay Z also got in on the fun, snapping a photo of his wife in front of the Venice canals, and mom and daughter took some time to smell the roses—literally.

Bey and Jay were in Italy attending the wedding of business mogul Noam Gottesman and his wife, fashion executive Bianca Dueñas, near Florence over the weekend.

 

 

 

 

 

KARRUECHE TRAN TALKS BREAKUP WITH CHRIS BROWN, PRAISES RIHANNA

She still talking....Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran called it quits after it was revealed that the singer had a baby with another woman. On Wednesday, Breezy’s ex stopped by “Big Boy’s Morning Show” on Real 92.3 to discuss their highly-publicized breakup.

She confirmed that they are no longer together. “I am 100 percent single,” said Karrueche.

Although they run in the same circles, they have managed to avoid each other, but she is frequently reminded of Chris from social media and the radio. “I kinda just have to block it out.”

Just like everyone else, she learned that Chris was a father from TMZ. “I was like, ‘Oh..OK…Ugh!'” said Karrueche. “I called him, I cussed him out, and I was like [dusts hands off].”

She admits that they were having relationship problems before the news broke. “After the whole Rihanna thing, we’ve been trying to fix what was broken. And that was just the icing on the cake. So I just had to completely pull away.”

She also denied any beef with Rihanna. “We just dated the same guy and that’s kinda what it is,” explained Karrueche. “It’s always like a competition thing and they compare us, but she is Rihanna. She’s a pop star, she’s beautiful. She makes great music, and I’m just me and I’m growing and working into myself. So you can’t really compare us. We’re completely different girls.”

TAMAR BRAXTON RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘IF I DON’T HAVE YOU’

Singer Tamar Braxton has just graced her fans with a new single, If I Don’t Have You, and news of a new album, Calling All Lovers, due out July 31.

Tamar broke the news simultaneously via all her social media accounts, as well as word that radio stations across the country will be playing the single today every hour on the hour. The single has also been made available via Vevo, which you can check out below.

Calling All Lovers will be Tamar’s fourth album and her first since 2013’s Christmas offering Winter Loverland.

The video for the single is rumored to be shown during an upcoming episode of Braxton Family Values and Tamar’s daytime reality show The Real.

NIA LONG ENGAGED TO LONGTIME BOYFRIEND

The 44-year-old beauty was spotted leaving dinner with Udoka. Her finger was weighted down by a 10-carat diamond engagement ring.  

E! News has exclusively confirmed with the actress' rep that she is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Ime Udoka,  but neither of the two lovebirds had made any mention of the big news.
Until now, that is.

Long and the former NBA player and San Antonio Spurs assistant coach have been romantically linked for over five years now, and also have a son together, 3-year-old Kez. 

He joins brother Massai, Long's son from a previous relationship, in the family fold. Kez is Udoka's first child.

GABRIELLE UNION LANDS TWO NEW MOVIE ROLES

Being Mary Jane actress Gabrielle Union is set to star in two film releases in 2016: Sleepless Night with Jamie Foxx and Keanu, which stars comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.

Sleepless Night is a remake of the French film Nuit Blanche and tells the story of a corrupt cop who must retrieve a bag of drugs in order to rescue his son whose been taken by a murderous drug lord. Gabrielle will play Foxx’s ex-wife. This will be the second time the pair have teamed up on the big screen. They first appeared together in the Sony Pictures 2004 romantic comedy Breakin’ all the Rules.

Gabrielle will play Keegan-Michael Key’s wife in “Keanu,” a comedy about two uptight lawyers who pretend to be drug dealers in order to retrieve a stolen kitten. I wish I was making that synopsis up, but I am not. Let’s hope it’s funnier than it sounds.

Gabby is presently on hiatus, as the second season of “Being Mary Jane” wrapped up last month. The show was given an early season three renewal and is expected to return to the air in January.

RIHANNA RULES HER KINGDOM IN DIOR ‘SECRET GARDEN IV’ CAMPAIGN

Queen of the night. Rihanna reigns over her kingdom in the fourth installment of Dior’s “Secret Garden” series. The dark and enchanting four-minute clip was shot at the Palace of Versailles by famed photographer Steven Klein. The fashion icon sparkles in a shimmery dress as she struts through a hallway filled with chandeliers.

She stuns in a flowy red gown before changing into black with a veil while perusing her palace at night. For her final look, she wears white and takes a spin through the royal garden.

The 27-year-old becomes Dior’s first-ever black spokeswoman. “It feels fantastic” she told MTV News. “It is such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any color. I think to be acknowledged by Dior means a lot, as a woman, to feel beautiful—to feel elegant and timeless.”

For the second time in less than a week, Hip-Pop star Nicki Minaj has released a video from her Gold certified 2104 album The Pinkprint.

Last weeks’s offering was the visual for Feeling Myself, which featured Beyonce, while this week’s offering is The Night is Still Young, which Nicki performed at the Billboard Awards earlier this week alongside David Guetta.

And while visually and lyrically different, what the videos both have in common is that they are Tidal exclusives.
