“Think Like a Man Too” actress Meagan Good is covering the latest issue of RollingOut magazine. Meagan, who is set to return to network television in early 2015 via her new NBC drama “Babylon Fields,” dishes on the red hot state of black romantic comedies, her marriage to motivational speaker DeVon Franklin and why she likes to think of herself as a liberal Christian. Peep Meagan’s photo shoot below, as well as few excerpts aimed at dispelling the constant rumors that surround her via the gossip blogs.
Meagan on the double standard black actresses’ face for taking on sexy roles: “If Angelina Jolie goes topless, everyone goes ‘Wow, she’s so badass, so committed to her craft,’ ” Good says. “But if Halle Berry goes topless, everyone’s like ‘She’s a slut. She probably took a bunch of money to do that.’ People attack her with unsavory names. And it’s unfortunate. Halle is one my favorite actresses — I’ve looked up to her since I began this journey. There’s definitely a double standard but I can’t put my finger on exactly why that is. If someone is telling a story, they should go to whatever extent that they’re comfortable with to tell the story. Whatever they feel is necessary.”
Meagan on nudity in films: “I have no problem with nudity — it just has to not be exploitative and it has to be important to tell the story,” she explains. “It depends on the script, the character, the story, the tone of the movie — all of those things. I commend women of every nationality that are bold enough to tell a story in a way that’s fearless. I just haven’t found a project where I felt it was necessary to do that. The scenes I’ve come across seemed exploitative and I just didn’t do it.”
Meagan on her own sexy image: “I really don’t think there’s anything wrong with being sexy,” she says matter-of-factly. “God created our bodies as women. He created us to be beautiful, to be sexy, to be powerful, to be fearless — to be amazing. I do respect and understand the fact that when you come into the sanctuary, you need to be dressed appropriately because you are not the star — Jesus is the star. That I agree with 100 percent.”
Meagan on her new found Christianity: “My faith is everything to me, but I’m also extremely liberal and I believe in telling real people stories,” Good adds. “If you’re always trying to be this perfect character in everything, how can you be inspiring and do anything interesting? I like playing complicated characters who sometimes make bad choices. I like playing characters that do something questionable and ultimately the repercussions of their choices are kind of the lesson of the story. It’s just that, once in a while, there’s an extreme amount of nudity or the way that they’re talking about God and or the way that they’re dealing with something specific, [and] I’m like ‘Yeah, I don’t want to do that.’ But every time I say ‘no,’ it leads to something better for me.”
Meagan on what being married has taught her: “Marriage has taught me that it’s OK to let somebody take care of me. That it’s OK to depend on somebody,” Good says. “I grew up being responsible for a lot of things — since I was 15 [I was] taking care of a lot of people. My father is amazing, but he wasn’t in the home, so my mother raised us with the mentality of not needing anybody. We were never the girls that went after the guy that had the money because we were taught to have our own money. I’ve always been extremely independent to the point where it probably intimidated some guys. Now, it’s nice to just feel like it’s not a bad thing to trust someone to have your best interest at heart.”
It’s red carpet and screen queen Lupita Nyong’o. The Kenyan actress lands her first ever Vogue cover. The BN Style team guessed she would get the coveted September issue, but Vogue America decided to let her takeover July. On the cover, Lupita smoulders in a print dress with a plunging neckline and cut outs. In the editorial spread, she rocks pieces by Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Givenchy, Jonathan Saunders, Prada, T by Alexander Wang and J. Crew.
Nyong’o, who will next be seen in the seventh edition of the Star Wars trilogy, was lensed by photographer Mikael Jansson last month in the beautiful city of Marrakesh.
Were convinced Kanye is crazy or is he just weird these days? After celebrating Father’s Day and his daughter North’s first birthday in New York, Kanye West and his family flew to Cannes for a surprise appearance at the Translation seminar at the Cannes Lions festival on Tuesday. The mogul impresario revealed that famed photographer Annie Leibovitz pulled out of his wedding at the last minute (“Maybe she was scared about the idea of celebrity”).
The wedding photo that Kim Kardashian posted on Instagram took “like four days” to edit because the colors on the flower wall didn’t look right. But he says it was worth it because it became the most liked image on Instagram.

On his inspiration: “The only thing I think can be an inspiration to me is the fact that I get bashed so much but create so much. Just know that if you really want to be a boxer, you’re gonna get your face beat up constantly, but then you may end up being Mayweather or Ali.”
On the power of endorsement: “I couldn’t have rapped if Jay Z hadn’t endorsed me. Eminem wouldn’t have been as successful if Dr. Dre hadn’t endorsed him.”
On the importance of good design: “I believe that bad taste is vulgar. It’s like cursing. I think the world can be saved through design. Because what is the most distasteful thing someone can do? Kill someone. So, good taste is the opposite of that.”
On beautifying the Internet: “The world as a whole is fucking ugly. The Internet as a whole is fucking ugly, too. But I’m not in the construction business. I said to [Instagram founder] Kevin [Systrom], why don’t you let us redo Instagram? Now, you know, Instagram is nice. It’s nice looking. I’m not knocking it. But just in general, everyone spends all of their time looking at their screens or their phones. And just as a simple task, we could clean that up.”
Heading off: Kim Kardashian and friend Jonathan Cheban prepare to head off to Cannes where she will be joining her husband and mother.
The Dreamgirls star shed her pounds via Weight Watchers over a period of four years. She embarked upon the weight loss regiment after the birth of her son David in August 2009. Prior to that, Jennifer, who is engaged to pro WWE wrestler David Otunga, never felt any issue with her size.

She did that! Eve is a married woman. The rapper wed British entrepreneur Maximillion Cooper on Saturday in Ibiza, Spain. The 35-year-old, born Eve Jeffers, and the Gumball 3000 motor rally founder, 41, tied the knot in a lavish ceremony, according to E! News. The bride looked gorgeous in a white gown by British designer Alice Temperley and a cathedral-length veil. “I’m so happy to make Eve my wife,” Cooper told E! “The whole experience has been amazing and we are both so happy to have tied the knot.”
“We met on the 2010 Gumball 3000 rally so it only seemed right to have the wedding at the finish of this years rally in Ibiza, which was the final stop on this years event,” he said. “We couldn’t be happier to celebrate such a special day with all our family and friends.”
Tony Hawk and Bun B were among those in attendance. “I present to you Mr. and Mrs. @gumball3000 themselves @mrgumball3000 and @therealeve now known as Mr. and Mrs. Maximillion Cooper! #meetthecoopers,” tweeted the Houston rapper.
This marks the first marriage for Eve. The couple got engaged last Christmas after dating for three years. Cooper has four children from a previous marriage.
Eve is looking forward to having kids of her own. “It’s whatever God wants to give me, but I think with the four, two more is just enough,” she said.
Did you get diamonds on your 1st birthday? Or did you give diamonds if you have kids? Well baby West is in the building truly stuntin like her parents. Forget books or teddy bears - for baby North West only diamonds will do. And as Kim Kardashian, 33, and Kanye West, 37, stepped out with their daughter on her first birthday, they revealed shiny new stones in her ears. The studs were a new addition for the one-year-old - they were not seen in pictures from her parents' wedding last month.
Little North was wearing a white dress, coordinating with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star. And she made a point of wearing her gold 'north' necklace in honour of the special day. Kanye coordinated with the pair, wearing a white T-shirt with his ripped denim trousers and tennis shoes. With North being the couple's first and only child, Sunday was bound to be one for the books.
With the celebration falling on the same day as daughter North's first birthday, the doting daddy succumbed to a snooze as their fun-filled day came to an end - watching a sports game from the comfort of his bed with his mini-me tucked sweetly under his arm.
Of course, snap-happy Kim Kardashian couldn't resist sharing a sweet photo with fans on social media of her husband and precious daughter lying fast asleep in their matching grey outfits. That baby North is such a cutie.
In the image, baby boy Future is clad in a button-up jersey with his name spelled out in bold letters, teamed with leather trousers and little booties.
The one-month-old is lying on a white shag rug, reminiscent of the first image of Kim Kardashian's baby girl, North - whose mother is Ciara's good friend. The Love Sex Magic hitmaker shared another image on Sunday of her son clutching his dad's finger.
Rapper Future was already excited about his baby and planning his — well, future — even before the tiny tot made his appearance into the world! “I want [Future Jr.] to be better than me,” Future shared with US Weekly just days before the baby was born. “I would encourage him in anything he wants to do. I want to be behind him, of course.” Aww.
Ciara revealed that she knew all along what she wanted to call the tot. She explained: 'I went with what felt right in my soul and my gut. I didn't second guess it.' Luckily, the Body Party star also admitted her pregnancy had been 'very easy.'
