TYLER PERRY BRINGS MADEA & SOPHIA TOGETHER

B.F.F.'S Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey go way back like Sade’s hairline. They’ve been involved in each other’s projects and teamed up to produce and finance other people’s projects too. But now, in a move that is sure to make the black Internet fall out, they’ve teamed up to record a special segment as their iconic characters Miss Sophia and Madea.


Oprah played Sophia in Steven Spielberg’s Academy Award-winning film “The Color Purple.” The role was a breakout moment for the journalist-turned-actress and she played the feisty, no-nonsense Sophia flawlessly. To this day, if you throw out the phrase, “Harpo, who dis woman?” you’re bound to get a few warm chuckles out of people.

Tyler Perry’s Madea character needs no introduction. She’s been the engine behind his success as a filmmaker as black audiences have proven to never tire of the shenanigans of the wild and crazy grandma who wreaks havoc on everyone but still manages to be lovable. Heller!

But back to Tyler and Oprah. Tyler recently announced that two shows of his, “Love Thy Neighbor” and “The Haves and Have Nots,” would be coming on board with Oprah’s once-flailing cable network OWN.

Oprah took to social media to post the above photo of her and Tyler dress as Madea and Sophia, telling viewers to tune in on Thursday as “Sophia meets Madea.”

So it’s not clear what exactly the two will be doing, but if I had to guess, I’d say it’s some sort of web-friendly skit that will air on OWN and spread across social media.

Oprah and Tyler would really be better off turning Sophia and Madea into a full-fledged show though. If Kevin Hart can spin his parody of “Real Housewives” into a series, so could they.

JILL SCOTT COVERS EBONY MAGAZINE WITH HER SON

Singer-actress Jill Scott has a lot to smile about these days. The mother of one is still making classic tunes and she now has an acting career that is on the rise.

The 40 year-old recently sat down with Ebony Magazine to discuss raising her son Jett Hamilton Roberts and all things motherhood. Check out some snippets below:

On raising a boy:

It’s challenging being a single mom…No matter what I do, I’ll never be a man. Ever. I can show Jett how to be a thinker, how to enjoy music or how to feel, and to conquer. But I cannot show him how to be a man.

Jill on motherhood:

Motherhood is getting your hands and your feet in the soil. When Jett puts my face in his hands and tells me, ‘Mommy you’re so pretty’ or smells me, it’s so wonderful.

Jill on being a single-mom:

That I-can-do-it-by-myself mentality is a lie. I’m sorry if I hurt anybody’s feelings, but you cannot do it all by yourself. You need a village: some aunties, grandmoms, friends. I couldn’t do this by myself and would be a fool to think I could.

SPORTS AGENT STATE OF MIND JAY-Z LAUNCHES ROC-NATION SPORTS

His social circle includes the biggest names in sports. His celebrity cachet is unmatched. He has informally advised athletes on everything from housing choices to contract extensions.

Jay-Z has long been in the inner circle of A-listers like Alex Rodriguez and LeBron James, using their names in his lyrics and their star wattage to enhance his own. Now, he is making a move to turn those relationships into big business in a more formal way.

With a double-barreled announcement Tuesday that he was opening his own sports agency, and that he was stealing the Yankees star Robinson Cano from the most powerful agent in baseball, Jay-Z stands poised to shake up the sports world by offering athletes something they cannot find anywhere else: himself.

Roc Nation Sports is the newest arm of Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s “full-service entertainment company” that has quickly built a strong reputation representing artists like Rihanna, Shakira and M.I.A. Jay-Z has been temporarily licensed to represent professional baseball players, said Ron Berkowitz, a spokesman for Roc Nation Sports, which also has teamed with Creative Artists Agency, a leading Hollywood agency that provides formidable negotiating authority.

Jay-Z’s move into sports representation does not come as a complete surprise, considering he has long invoked sports in his lyrics alongside boasts about his entrepreneurial skills and his fashion sense. In fact, he has turned a Yankees cap into a sort of personal trademark, claiming in one song that “I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can.”

Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years.

KAYNE AND HIS MARRIED BABY MAMA JET OFF TO PARIS

These two always look so unhappy, and we notice Kim Kardashian only smiles when she is not with him or with her family.  We just don't believe this relationship is real, but anyway the two love-less birds were spotted in Paris over the weekend.  Kim Kardashian has jet off to Paris to see her baby daddy Kanye West after nearly a month apart.

The parents-to-be were spotted hitting the Paris streets and shopping at couture childrenswear store Bonpoint, to presumably stock up on very luxe and very expensive baby gear.

The attention-loving reality star had not one, but three changes to her outfit in a single day. Although she’s been attacked for her skin-tight “maternity” wear lately, while in Paris she’s worn loose-fitting blouses, slacks and even flats at one point while in Paris.

Kardashian hasn’t been in the French capital since early March where she joined the rapper for a show during Paris Fashion Week. Soon after leaving, the four-months’ pregnant E! star was rushed to a doctor in LA where she feared she was having a miscarriage. Fortunately it was a false alarm.

Kim recently revealed that she and Kanye are yet to decide on a baby name.Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel she said: 'We have a list,' she said, adding of her family's own tradition, 'And some of them are "K" names some of them aren't.'

'[North] is not on our list,' she said, adding with a shy shrug, 'But you know what name I do like - but it probably won't be on [our list]... I like Easton - Easton West - I think that's cute.'

TRAILER T.I. DOCUMENTARY "BEYOND THE TRAIL"

T.I. & Tiny’s “Family Hustle” is a great show but it looks like this documentary will really allow fans to see beyond where they are today. We all know that T.I. has ran into a few bumps in the road and from the looks of things the rapper will discuss those issues and more.

We’re not sure about a release date yet but we know that fans and especially Atlanta natives are going to be hungry for this.

Ooh hunni....notes on a Scandal! Here's the tea honey boo, boo child, Magic Johnson’s youngest son Earvin Johnson III, aka EJ, is out and proud. The 20-year-old college student was seen stepping down Sunset Strip in full drag gear — excluding lipstick and lakefront wig, red designer bag — hand-in-hand with his college boyfriend, according to gossip website TMZ.com.

We’re very proud of him,” Magic told TMZ. The feeling is mutual..cause EJ told TMZ he's been "hoping praying" for his dad's team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, ever since Magic and his business partners took over the franchise.

Magic has another son, Andre, from a previous relationship, and the Johnsons have an adopted daughter, Elisa, 18, pictured above with EJ and their parents. EJ who's a student at NYU has always had a loving relationship with his parents. It's like having the daughter you never wanted.

Johnson, 53, was diagnosed with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, in 1991. He retired from the NBA in 1996.

We hear celebrity trainer Marco Borges whipped you back into shape. Did you get addicted to the gym?

BEYONCÉ: Not at all. Some people prefer the gym, but when I have to put on workout clothes and run on a treadmill, I get bored. The key to staying motivated is to find a form of exercise you enjoy, and for me, it’s dance. I lose a lot of weight and tone up much more because I’m truly dedicated to it. It’s something I do for a living, and thank God I love my job. The rehearsals leading up to a tour always get me in shape, so I never have to feel like, “Oh, no, I have to get up and go to the gym!”

Do you have goals when you’re losing weight, like getting down to a certain dress size or a number on the scale?

BEYONCÉ: I do, actually. I won’t tell you specifically what the digits are, but I was at my ideal weight while working on my Crazy in Love video. I was 20 years old! Whenever I want to get into amazing shape, that’s the body size I aim for. But I’m not a naturally thin person. I have to work for it.

MEKHI PHILFER MARRIES LONGTIME GIRLFRIEND IN AN INTIMATE CEREMONY

“ER” actor Mekhi Phifer tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Reshelet Barnes in an intimate Beverly Hills ceremony attended by family and close friends on Sunday (Mar 31).
 About 100 friends and family members attended, including Phifer's son, who walked down the aisle with their Chihuahua.

Phifer entered to Stevie Wonder's "Ribbon in the Sky," according to E! News. The 15-minute ceremony featured the happy couple in dashing ivory.  Held on an outdoor terrace, Mekhi put on a dapper showing in a three piece suit which was made up of a silk tie and waistcoat.

And Reshelet stunned in a strapless floor length fishtail gown as she wore part of her hair up as the back section cascaded down her shoulders in loose curls.

"When she made her entrance into the courtyard, Mekhi was completely overcome with emotion and you could tell she took his breath away," an eyewitness source told E! News. "He had to wipe tears from his eyes for several minutes."

To top off what already sounds like a wonderful event, none other than TV's Judge Greg Mathis officiated the ceremony.

Phifer, whose breakthrough roles include Spike Lee's "Clockers" and "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer," has two sons. The first, Omikaye, was born in 1999 to "Soul Food" actress Malinda Williams, whom Phifer divorced in 2003 after four years of marriage.

He had his second son, Mekhi Thira Phifer Jr., with fiancee Oni Souratha in 2007.

Phifer starred as Dr. Greg Pratt on "ER" from 2002 until 2008. He saw a successful slate of films throughout the 2000s, including "O," "8 Mile" and "Honey." He was also a regular on the Fox crime drama "Lie To Me."

GIULIANA RANCIC READY FOR ANOTHER BABY & COVERS SPLASH MAGAZINE

Giuliana Rancic and her husband Bill are considering having another baby!

“We’d only be so lucky,” the E! News hostess told the Chicago Sun-Times Sunday magazine SPLASH  about adding to her family with Bill Rancic.

Just seven months ago, their son Duke Rancic  was born via gestational surrogate after Giuliana struggled with infertility and then beat breast cancer by having a double mastectomy.

Their family was hard-won, and Giuliana said in SPLASH that she and Bill work hard “to make each other’s lives easier” while raising Duke.  “Bill doesn’t even drink coffee, but every day he insists on making my coffee.  And you know why?  Because his dad made his mom coffee every day, and he thought that was so romantic.”

Viewers of the sixth season of their E! reality show “Giuliana & Bill,” which will premiere in June, can expect to see “a ton of baby Duke,” she revealed. And the couple will relive their courtship days by co-hosting the new NBC dating show “Ready for Love,” debuting on April 9 and featuring three bachelors who are looking for mates.

ATLANTA HOUSEWIVES PORSHA STEWART MARRIAGE BACK ON THEY ARE IN COUNSELING?

Porsha Stewart is fighting back. A week after husband Kordell Stewart blindsided her by filing for divorce, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 31, submitted her own divorce papers via her attorney, TMZ reports. In the documents, according to TMZ, the Bravo starlet seeks alimony as well as use of their Atlanta mansion. In his original filing, Kordell, 40, had claimed his wife of less than two years didn't need spousal support and could earn her own living.

But, her attorney argues, Porsha stalled her own career for her husband, quitting her job and apparently selling her businesses in order to be a wife and take care of his son from a previous relationship, TMZ reports -- and thus seeks alimony.

"Mrs. Stewart had held off on filing for a divorce herself and remained committed to the marriage because Mr. Stewart promised to work on the marriage with her," Porsha's rep told Us Weekly on Tuesday after new broke of the split. "Instead, he misled her and she found out about the filing in the media."

And with such a rough week, the couple’s marriage appeared to be over. But a new report now alleges that they haven’t called it quits just yet! The couple has been undergoing extensive marriage counseling, both together and separately, a source close to the family told Media Takeout. The source alleges that Porsha and Kordell are working towards reconciliation, and that they have decided to give their marriage another chance.

Allegedly, the couple could announce their plans to get back together as soon as tomorrow, Apr. 1 (we’re not even touching the April Fools implications).

So up until today, Mar. 31, Kordell and Porsha seemed to be quickly headed for a separation. A statement to Us Weekly from Porsha’s rep seemed to also confirm that. However, with this new report in mind, the statement can be read a little differently:



Porsha’s rep does admit that the couple had discussed working on their marriage, but that the talks were silenced by Kordell’s (possibly premature) divorce papers. Is it possible that Kordell is now recognizing his mistake, and that he and Porsha are back on track towards reconciliation? Reportedly, we may not have to wait more than a day to find out!
