BEYONCE TEAMS UP WITH TOP SHOP FOR A NEW ATHLETIC LINE

We know Beyoncé loves to wear Topshop, so it makes total sense that the singer is partnering with the fashion giant on a new company focused on streetwear-inspired activewear.

With her own House of Dereon clothing line officially defunct, Beyonce has decided to team up with London powerhouse Topshop to launch Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd, a 50/50 joint venture that will produce an athletic streetwear brand set to launch sometime in the fall of 2015.

According to WWD, who interviewed Topshop owner Sir Philip Green, ‘Parkwood’ is not a collaboration between his company and Beyonce, but rather the building of a new brand- a completely separate business with separate overhead and separate offices.

As for Beyonce, she reportedly released a brief statement saying “I have always loved Topshop for their fashion credentials and forward thinking.”

The official announcement is expected to be announced later today by Topshop in London.

FYI: Topshop is the same company Rihanna sued some years ago for misappropriating her image on a brand of t-shirts. She eventually won her case and the company stopped selling the shirts.
