NICK CANNON DAD CHIMES IN ABOUT HIS SON PENDING DIVORCE FROM MARIAH CAREY

Over the weekend Nick Cannon's father caused controversy after posing a series of cryptic questions on social media that many perceived to be about his son Nick and Mariah Carey's crumbling marriage [click here if you missed that].

Now Nick's dad explains what he thinks could have taken the couple to the next level… 

 James Cannon tells Page Six

“If Nick could have somehow ran her business or worked in conjunction with her they would have been such a power couple in Hollywood. It’s difficult, but look at Beyonce and Jay Z… If that means Nick needed to step aside from his business and taken a lead on Mariah’s work then I think it would have pushed them on a whole new level.”

 Why are Jay and Bey always the reference for everybody else to use?  Where not sure but it's obvious they are the couple to be these days.
