GMA HOST ROBIN ROBERTS ADMITS TO BEING GAY THANKS LONGTIME GIRLFRIEND VIA FACEBOOK FOR SUPPORT

No shock here, but we thought she was already out the closet but apparently not, Robin Roberts has plenty to be thankful for after an eventful 2013, and on Dec. 29 she decided to celebrate that fact on Facebook. The Good Morning America anchor took to her official page to thank those who have contributed to her recovery. Doing so, she publicly acknowledged her longtime girlfriend Amber Laign.

"I am grateful for my sister, Sally-Ann, for being my donor and giving me the gift of life," the journalist, 53, wrote. "I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together.
Roberts and Laign have been together for 10 years, and the reporter's girlfriend has stood by her throughout her breast cancer diagnosis and bone marrow transplant in September 2012. Roberts took to the social media site this Sunday for a specific reason.
ABC News issued a statement of support via Buzzfeed, following Robin Roberts' post. "We love Robin and Amber, who we have all known for a long time. We were so touched by Robin's Facebook message today and so thankful for all the loving support she has in her life."
