ALICA KEYS BLACK BALL...BEYONCE TO PERFORM

The Black Ball event is raising funds for Keys’ Keep a Child Alive foundation, which provides assistance to children and families living with HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. So far, Keys has raised over $14 million for her cause since 2004.

Also being feted is world-music singer Angelique Kidjo for her ongoing philanthropic endeavors. ‘The View’ co-host and comedian Whoopi Goldberg is the host of the festivities, which take place in New York on Nov. 1. “[Carole King has] blazed the trail for women in the music industry,” says Keys about the veteran songwriter in a press release.
We also think Ms. B has paved a few roads for women in the music industry as well, but we are not hating on Ms. Keys. “Women will be rocking the house this year,” she adds. True, indeed.
Beyonce and Oprah have many things in common besides their philanthropic efforts. The two divas are among Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Women in the World. You add Keys to the mix and you certainly will have a powerful trifecta rocking the Black Ball event in November.

Most recently, Beyonce raised $4 million at a fundraiser for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign. Her and hubby Jay-Z were photographed in a deep conversation with POTUS.

It’s unclear what the couple were discussing with the prez. Maybe Obama was giving Hova some tips on how to improve his rhymes. We keed! We keed!
