YEAR END REVIEW 2009 FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT...AND MORE





President Barack Hussein Obama became the 44th President  and was sworn in on Jan 20, 2009. What a year! On that frigid January morning, an estimated 1.8 million people traveled to the nation’s capital to witness the inauguration of America’s first Black president. President Obama captured the sentiment of the moment, saying
“This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed…why a man whose father less than 60 years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath,”
President Obama also went on to win the Nobel Peace prize, let also not forget Michael Steele Became the First Republican Chairman.
We lost the King of Pop. Whitney Houston released her first album in seven years. Jennifer Hudson had a baby boy. The Great Recession and Unemployment.  There Was An Outbreak of the H1N1 Flu Virus.  Derrion Albert Was Brutally Killed he was the honor school student that was beating to death in Chicago cauught on video and caused public outrage. And so much more....
