PREVIEW MOVIE CLIP: ‘PUSH: Based on a Novel by Sapphire’

Such a powerful story Push: Based on the novel by Sapphire, is the story of Claireece Precious Jones, an overweight, illiterate teen who is pregnant with her second child. She endures unimaginable hardships in her young life: abused by her mother and raped by her father.

The film won numerous awards at this years Sundance Film Festival and was recently picked up by Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry.

Oprah gave this quote too the press:

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” Winfrey said in a statement. “The moment I saw Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire, I knew I wanted to do whatever I could to encourage other people to see this movie.

“The film is so raw and powerful—it split me open.”

Make sure to watch the above clip to see some award worthy performances from Mo’Nique, Mariah Carey, Paula Patton and new comer Gabourey “Gabby” Sidibe. This movie looks really good make sure we go out and support this important story.
