Dreamgirls leads NAACP nominations
Movie musical Dreamgirls looks set to steal the major accolades at the 38th NAACP Image Awards after landing seven nominations yesterday.
The movie was among the Outstanding Motion Picture nominees, while the Dreamgirls soundtrack was nominated for Outstanding Album at the annual National Association For The Advancement Of Colored People ceremony.
Stars Beyoncé Knowles, Jamie Foxx, Danny Glover, Jennifer Aniston and Anika Noni Rose all claimed top acting nods.
Medical drama Grey's Anatomy landed four nominations, while Ugly Betty picked up three.
In the music categories, Knowles and Mary J Blige led the nominees after landing four nods apiece.
Both will compete for the Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Song prizes.
John Legend, India Arie and Corinne Bailey Rae landed three nominations apiece.
Winners will be unveiled on March 2.
