ANGELE BASSETT TO DIRECT WHITNEY HOUSTON BIOPIC FOR LIFETIME

“American Horror Story: Coven” actress Angela Bassett is set to direct Lifetime’s upcoming filmography on the life of late pop singer Whitney Houston.

With a simple working title of “Whitney Houston,” the film is set for a 2015 debut and will reportedly tackle the years Houston was married to fellow R&B singer Bobby Brown.

In a released stament, Bassets said she has “great regard for both singers” and is “beyond excited to go behind the camera and into their world.”

The race to bring Whitney’s life to the big/small screen has been relentless since the singer passed away prematurely in 2012. Actress Meagan Good expressed interest in portraying Whitney, as did Vivica Fox, who has had her name attached to a Whitney biopic for well over a decade. Longtime mentor Clive Davis was also reported to be in talks to tell Whitney’s life story.

No casting has been announced for the film, but I wait with bated breath to see who will be chosen to bring one of music’s biggest icon’s to life.

JENNIFER LOPEZ PERFORMS ‘FIRST LOVE’ ON ‘AMERICAN IDOL’

Jennifer Lopez capped off the latest season of “American Idol” with a bang. After receiving the Icon Award at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards, the pop superstar made her way from the judges’ table to the stage to perform her Max Martin-produced single “First Love” on Wednesday’s finale. With the wind whipping through her hair, the hot mamacita sexed up the stage with an exhilarating set.

The 44-year-old credits her fit physique to her 22-day vegan diet, which she recently completed. “I enjoy eating that way. I never did,” she told Ryan Seacrest. “And I didn’t know how good you can feel when you put healthy stuff in your body.”

In addition to J.Lo, Aloe Blacc, Paramore, and Demi Lovato also performed at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live before an “Idol” winner was crowned.

J.Lo’s 10th album A.K.A. drops June 17 featuring Iggy Azalea, Nas, T.I., Rick Ross, and Pitbull.

If that wasn’t enough, she will release a book, True Love, on October 28.

USHER EX WIFE TAMEKA RAYMOND BLAMES LIPOSCUTION SURGERY FOR DIVORCE

Why can't these women move on already, it would be miserable to live in your ex-husband shadow. Usher Raymond‘s ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, is blaming their divorce on a secret trip she took to Brazil for a lipo procedure back in 2009.

Tameka almost died on the operating table after she went into cardiac arrest. In an interview to promote her reality TV series, Hollywood Exes: Atlanta, Tameka said, “I did dumb stuff. I mean, I went to Brazil and tried to get lipo and almost died. I think that embarrassed him to like, “Oh no. I’m packing. She’s a nut.”

Of course, we know the truth. Usher’s bags were packed long before that.

Tameka and Usher’s marriage was already on the rocks before she scheduled that unfortunate liposuction operation.

In fact, Usher and Tameka were living on separate coasts for at least a year prior to Tameka’s operation — and before Usher filed for divorce in June 2009.

As you know, Usher was photographed with his current girlfriend, Def Jam exec Grace Miguel, around the time that Tameka flew to Brazil. Tameka reportedly scheduled the liposuction in a desperate bid to save her failed marriage. And Tori Hart she just has lost it over the break up of Kevin Hart over 7 years ago.  Peep Video Below:

REALITY SHOW FLEX & SHANICE ARE COMING TO OWN...."LIFE OF BROKE CELEBRITIES"

Singer Shanice Wilson and her husband Flex Alexander were in talks to star in their own family themed reality show? Well, via a press release issued last week, the pair will officially unveil “Flex and Shanice” on May 31st via the OWN network.

The one-hour primetime special will reportedly give viewers a glimpse into the life of the celebrity couple and their extended family, including Shanice’s mother, who the couple recently moved in with after suffering several financial setbacks.

Flex is probably best known for his role on UPN’s “One on One,” while Shanice is best known for hit 1991 single “I Love Your Smile.” While Flex has worked consistently since “One On One” went off the air in 2006, Shanice has kept a pretty low profile over the years, performing here and there, but choosing mostly to be a stay at home mom to their two children; 12-year old Imani and 10-year old Elijah.

Obvious Beyonce got Oliva Pope on her family case, because the family is back to all smiles.  The 27-year-old singer looked happy and relaxed as she joined her sister Beyonce, Jay Z and an entourage including her mother Tina and boyfriend Alan Ferguson at courtyard restaurant Cafe Amelie in New Orleans.

They reportedly arrived in three SUVs with heavy security. A team of bodyguards waited outside to make sure no photographers got a shot of them, but Beyoncé has shared some photos from their get together.

Bey, Jay, Solange, and Tina Knowles were all smiles as they posed together for a family portrait. With their arms around each other, Bey and her little sis snapped a pic and Jay hung out with Solange’s son Julez and her boyfriend Alan Ferguson. Blue Ivy, photographed from the back, was also by her mother’s side.

After video surfaced of Solange attacking Jay Z in an elevator, the family released a joint statement. “At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different,” they said.

Singer Ciara has given birth to a baby boy. The Goodies hitmaker and her fiancé Future welcomed a son into the world 'very early' on Monday morning in Los Angeles, the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column reports.

Ciara recently said: 'I didn't even know what to expect [with the pregnancy], but it's been a very easy process. And it's been so much fun. The King of Pop appeared as a hologram to perform the Timbaland-produced “Slave to the Rhythm” off his posthumous album Xscape, which was released last week. Much like Tupac at Coachella, the digital creation was eerily lifelike, dancing its way across the stage.

The king lives on. Five years after his death, Michael Jackson was resurrected at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday.

The controversial performance drew a mixed response on Twitter. Some were impressed, while others were skeptical. “Dat was mike?” said Nicki Minaj.

Super hot! The spectacular three-minute long clip purports to be for new film Run but has a release date of 'coming never,' even though no doubt after watching the trailer, most people would happily head to the cinemas to see it.

Filled with violence, car crashes and explosions the new spoof trailer no doubt cost more than most independent releases and certainly had more big names than any indy flick.

In less than four minutes, the couple managed to have cameos from everyone Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Guillermo Díaz, Emmy Rossum, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Rashida Jones and Kidada Jones.
